F-16 Fly over the hudson River (TODAY 1:30 PM)

9 posts in this topic

There will be a flight of two (2) F-16's coming up the Hudson River from the Battery to the G.W. Bridge and turn and head back down the river. They should be flying at 5500 feet.

This is a media event celebrating the One Millionth Sortie in support of the Global war on Terrorism.

They will more then likly fly a bit north of the bridge and turn around.

You sure they're going to be at 5500 feet? At that altitude today they're going to be in the clouds and that won't be much of a media event.

Looking forward to hearing them at least!

A "bit North" in Jet-Speak, might even mean they get up near to Westchester ...

After all, they'll be going @ 160 mph...

This may be a silly question, but whats a "sortie?"

Aviation speak for "mission".

So did anyone go out to see it today or catch a glimpse of it? I wish I had time to but I was working all day.
