Looks like possibly you could fit a set of irons or other small tools like that in there.

Why did they go with a strobe lightbar? Nowadays it seems like everything is going to LED

When is it expected to be put into service?

Oilflame, from the delivery photos on the apparatus site, there's a married set of Axe and Irons as well as a couple of extinguishers.

Vacguy, who cares, it needs to be ripened, BADLY!

How can you tell it is not LED. Not all LED's have clear outer lenses--I didn't really inspect it--maybe I missed something.

Last I had heard when the apparatus was being spec'd, is that the strobe works and is very visible. There is some combination with LED's however. LED's don't make every other warning device obsolete.

I think that engine is one of the best looking spartans I have seen. Not in love with the lime-green color scheme, but it is still a very nice looking rig. That coming from a member of a department that has ALL spartans and I am not particularly fond of the way any of them look. (sorry NFD mechanical div.) I just like the Seagraves and the Pierces...now THEY are firetrucks.
