A sad anniversary no doubt. If you haven't seen this ESPN clip about one of the firefighters who was also a high school basketball coach, and perished that day check it out;

Quite an amazing story.

~Stay safe

Charleston 9....Gone But NEVER Forgotten

I remember exactly where I was when I heard about the tragedy. I was spending a few nights visiting Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. One of the city fire houses was a few doors down, so I headed to that fire house and watched the news and prayed with the guys on duty that day.

May they rest in peace. As others have stated above, let us learn and not let them have died in vain.

To learn about this tragedy read the report.

I will say this again read the report.

There is so much to learn in it. Link to the report can be found at Firehouse.com - Charleston Fire Report.

It is a long report (272 pages), but read some every day. It is a sad report.

What a horrific tragedy. And to think it was only one year ago- in modern times. Hopefully, these guys didn't die in vein, and the many lessons learned get applied.

Thoughts and prayers.
