Supervising Fire Alarm Dispatcher Dennis (DOC) O'Connell

FDNY Bronx Communications

Which occured Sunday October 19th, 2008

Dennis was a 36 year veteran of the FDNY Bureau of Communications. The past 21 years as a Supervisor.

Personal note: I was honored to work both for and with Dennis for a number of years up here in the Bronx. I learned more just from listening than anybody could show me in a class room. He was a walking encyclopedia and he will be sorely missed.

Dennis was a great man and a friend of every firefighter in the city, especially the Bronx.

He'll be remembered as one of the best "Old Time" dispatchers, who loved "The Job", and that's how I know he would want to be remembered.

We'll all miss him....

Let's all turnout and give him a great FDNY funeral. That's what he would want.
