Tornado Watch Issued For Dutchess County 11-15-08

The National Weather Service just issued a tornado watch for Dutchess County from now until 21:00 hrs this date.

NEW YORK COUNTIES INCLUDED ARE

ALBANY, COLUMBIA, DELAWARE, DUTCHESS, GREENE, ORANGE, PUTNAM, RENSSELAER, ROCKLAND, SARATOGA, SCHENECTADY, SCHOHARIE, SULLIVAN, ULSTER AND WESTCHESTER.

I just looked at the radar loop and there is a small sliver of storms currently in Western PA.

Its a pretty impressive radar squall line of convection from near Richmond VA to Binghamton!!

shhhhhhhhhhhhhh Joe, radar is breaking up, looks as though the rain has already cleared Western Dutchess, rain line is about at the TSP.

Whoopdee doo. We had one clap of thunder, very little wind, and some rain.

Just as well.

Unrelated, there is a fairly good sized power outage going on in our area that hit around 1845, we still have no lights.

According to ConEd they have about a thousand customers out. Trusty 6KW generator to the rescue.... B)

Well I guess it is better to have this thing overplayed and have us on alert then have us taken by surprise, seems though more and more storms are being blown up, I just hope the "boy who cried wolf" thingee doesn't start coming into play when the storms don't pan out.

yeah Mark County only Puts tones out when it comes over the weather radio or nyspin. but your right look how people react with Hurricanes in FL
