I would like to congratulate the new P.O.'s of Class 126. May you all be safe, and enjoy long careers. Especially WCPD shield 295, my brother and fellow EMTBravo member. You make us proud.

Yeah, 295! Hope my partner taught you well! He learned it all from me;)

On a down note, the 4 Yonkers grads got their layoff letters.

Some tough words in the comments on the story. Congrats to the grads, and good luck to the Yonkers Folks who got their Pink Slips.

Also, congrats to the Marist SPE Alumni in the class, Bouey, good job bro!

Wow, graduation and lay-off in almost the same day? Harsh. Hardly the appropriate remuneration for such a hard-earned accomplishment. Nonetheless, congrats to all those survived the County PD academy. A few friends and family-o-mine made your lives miserable the last few months, so I know just how well- deserved this graduation truly is. NICE JOB and congrats in all of your new career endeavours!

Technically they aren't certified police officers yet. About 2 years ago DCJS made post academy field training a part of the curriculum. I think they need to do something like 5 or 6 weeks more training to be certified.

You got it. They have some time to get hired elsewhere and I'm sure that the PBA and probably the PD will help them make connections with jobs that are hiring right now.

As long as they're hired within the DCJS timeframe, they won't have to repeat the academy.

Good luck to the Yonkers and North Castle victims of this nightmare.
