EMTBravo Summer BBQ

EMTBravo Summer BBQ!

Seth and I have tossed around the idea of

having a EMTBravo Summer BBQ

- Burgers

- Hot Dogs

- Chips

- Cold Soda

Are YOU Interested?

1. Where?

Choices:

- Croton Point Park, Croton-On-Hudson, NY

- Blue Mountain Reservation, Peekskill, NY (May be able to get us a deal)

- FDR State Park, Yorktown, NY

I would like to keep this as close to me as possible for obvious reasons

such as but not limited to; Food, Supplies, Etc

2. When?

- Saturday or

- Sunday

3. Cost?

What do you feel is fair? Not looking to profit here, just cover costs.

- $15 PP

- $20 PP

This would be to cover the cost of Food, Soda, Ice, Possible Park Permit, Etc.

** Also Considering Advanced Ticket Sales **

4. Who Would Attend?

- EVERYONE IS INVITED!

OK, So here is the deal. Based on interest and feedback I will plan and schedule this

EMTBravo Summer BBQ.

Final decision will be posted on Friday May 1, 2009

Members let me know what you think?

THANK YOU!

Sounds like a great idea, but I wouldn't count on Croton Point. That park is busy all Summer.

Thanks for the heads up Remember585!

I would really like to go with Blue Mountain Reservation off Welcher Ave and

Washington Street in Peekskill.

Peekskill PD and Peekskill FD Career Firefighters

had several Picnics here and they went very well.

Park Staff was very good.

Plenty of Parking, Picnic Areas, Bathrooms, Etc.

Should we run out of anything A&P is only 1/2 mile away.

:D

FDR park is beautiful on a weekday, but on summer weekends it becomes an extension of the South Bronx. Croton Point also gets crowded on weekends. Ridge Park in Greenburgh might be a good spot, my Dad had a lot of company picnics there growing up, was always a good time.

1. Blue Mountain Reservation

Peekskill, NY

2. George's Island Park

Montrose, NY

3. Croton Gorge Park

Croton-On-Hudson, NY

I will be looking into Picnic Permits, Fees, Etc

this coming week and get back to everyone soon

with a date and location.

ALL have nice Picnic Areas and Parking,

does Croton Gorge have Bathrooms?

I am not too sure about the Riverfront Green in Peekskill? HMMMMMM

It depends on how many LEO's are attending. lol

Thanks for all the input! :D

Croton Gorge really isn't much more then a parking lot and a grassy hill. George's Island isn't bad. Another good park where we do functions is Gerlach Park in the Town of Ossining. It has a pavilion, playgorund for kids and more importantly a SOFTBALL FIELD.

Well I drive through it every time I go to my sister's house and there seems to be more than what you describe.

MoFire390,

I could always use some help brother.

Give me a call! :D

Thanks for the offer!

What would be a big help to get the word out on this BBQ is to establish a liaison between

various FD, PD, EMS and EMTBravo.

If anyone is interested please send me a e-mail with your name and agency.

E-MAIL HERE!

On the UPDATE as of today I have narrowed it down to (2) locations:

1. Blue Mountain Reservation

Peekskill, NY

2. George's Island Park

Montrose, NY

I am also considering offering advanced Tickets to the BBQ at a discount.

Anyone who shows up the day of the BBQ would pay a little more.

This would be a HUGE help in getting an idea how many are attending so we can have Food, Drinks, and Supplies ready.

I don't wanna spend money ordering Food for 50 and 5 show up or vice versa.

NOTE: Possible Dates of Saturday June 13 or Saturday June 20

NOTE: Possible Dates of Saturday June 13 or Saturday June 20

Just so you know, I believe the 20th is the Hudson Valley Convention, that might draw some of the crowd you're looking for away.

Unfortunately this thread about having a EMTBravo BBQ does not seem

to have sparked too much interest.
