I'm sure its all a part of the Cuomo vs DiBlasio pissing match. Cuomo wants to increase the state's visible presence in NYC, between increased State Police staffing, changing color scheme on TBTA cars to look like Troopers, etc.

What Westchester agency self dispatched? 60 Control dispatched Verplanck FD and WCPD Marine, Verplanck FD requested 60 Control dispatch Croton FD and Tarrytown FD Marine Units. To my knowledge, no agency self dispatched.

This is all the time. It's a shame the people of Sleepy Hollow do not get the care that they should get. Tarrytown VAC is up there all the time. They should get shut down at best.Peoples lives our on the line.

NEW YORK — The family of an elderly woman who died filed a lawsuit claiming a private ambulance service boasting "luxury transport" dropped her on the way home from the hospital and those injuries eventually killed her.
Court papers allege EMS providers dropped Maddalena Santoro, 90, as they were taking her up the stairs and into her Manhattan apartment December 2012, the New York Post reports.
"Her head hit one of the marble stairs, and she ended up in a coma," said lawyer Jeffrey Antin. She was in good health otherwise, and was going to the hospital for wound care, he added.
The service, Citywide Mobile Response Corp. boasts advanced medical transport services, and provides plush ambulances featuring 400-thread-count linens, flat-screen TVs, surround sound and a "multi-mode lighting system."

Correct, from what I've heard, effective the 16th 0800, 60 Control will dispatch any calls they receive, a follow up phone to Somers dispatch, then Somers dispatch will run the rest of the call following Somers FD dispatch protocols.

Hoist and Air/Sea rescue or not, any aerial support, particularly during night time operations, is a big help. I would imagine, maybe Helicopper can shed some light on this, that the WCPD airship has FLIR. NYSP and NYPD Aviation were on scene for the initial night time search.

While I too am a proud volunteer, not only of my department, I think proper credit is due to all responders on this incident. This was a multi agency effort, volunteer and career. Everyone acted professionally, and cooperated with each other to the best of everyone's ability. I've never seen so many agencies operating at one incident on the Hudson. Kudos to all!

Guys hate to burst your bubble but the portable version is deemed an "assault rifle" in NYS and thus illegal... It has a scary looking pistol grip... Can anyone see a bayonnet lug on there?
