How time flies....I marched in Elmsford's 75th Anniversary Parade as an explorer with Ardsley. LOL I remember thinking how far off their 100th Anniversary Parade was going to be.

Elmsford fire company celebrates 100 years

By Theresa Juva • TJuva@LoHud.com • September 19, 2009

ELMSFORD - Just like his dad, 9-year-old Joey Dorio wants to a be volunteer firefighter.

He sat on the curb on Main Street today and watched bands of bagpipers and flashing firetrucks march by in the county's annual parade to honor its volunteer fire departments. This year the event celebrated the 100th anniversary of Live Oak Engine Company, a branch of the Elmsford Fire Department.

It was great to see so many Fire and EMS Depts come out for the parade today. We couldn't have asked for better weather. Congrats to Live Oak Engine Company on their 100th Anniversary!! Also, congrats to all those who took home a trophy. It was a great day made possible by everyone who helped and participated!!!

I have over 400 pictures from todays 100th Anniversary Parade for Live Oak Engine Company in Elmsford.... I'll do what I can to get many posted, but will be travelling next week, so it'll be tough.

Here's one of the better ones though --

I have to say a few things here,

The pictures that JP59 took were great shots!! Thanks for sharing. I hope you have time to share more with us.

As a volunteer of Mamaroneck Village EMS, we were asked to cover Elmsford for there 911 district, This was mine, as well as MEMS second time doing this favor to them, and I have to say, Elmsford you out did your self's again. You were a great host, and your members were more then happy to help our members with any questions they had, and the food was great ;) .

I would personally like to congratulate each, and every member of Live Oak as well as the entire department on a very fun, and historic parade. Congrat's once again on reaching 100 years of service. May you reach another 100 years.

There was a few people taking photos and video prior to the start of the parade and throughout. Some mentioned that they were making cd's. If so, how do we go about getting a copy?
