A fine Ship, made for the fine people of New York and the memories of all those who perished on 9/11. May God bless this ship and may His hand guide them on all missions they serve. A proud day to be a New Yorker, as a piece of New York comes home.

Wow, completely dwarfs that Coast Guard FAST Boat on the port side. Amazing vessel, seems worthy of the name and the people it honors. Godspeed USS New York.

To Welcome the USS New York into the city, on 11/02/09 The Empire State Building was lit up blue and gold.

And a photo of the New York docked near the Intrepid. The ex- USS Growler is in the foreground
