Not an alert, but an overnight shelter @ John Jay High School should be opening soon.

City of Beacon and DC911 were the stars of the night for sure...never laughed so hard at some of the exchanges over the air...

Fine job by both agencies to boot.

Lets just say Beacon has a M/A Tanker from Pleasant Valley due to no hydrants and had Roosevelt with a Utility and their Air/Light truck providing support to cut up downed trees... Numerous trees down, power lines down, and partial/ full building collapses. What a mess with 2 + feet of snow and it is still snowing...

No offense why did City Of Beacon take a Tanker from Pleasant Valley, when Putnam, Glenham, East Fishkill, Hughsonville are much closer???

You answered your own question grasshoppa.....no need to strip one area that has already been inundated with emergency calls, when they can pull a tanker from across county and not disrupt the balance of equipment there.

Well said x129K.

One could ask the same reason why East Fishkill's TL was called to s/b @ Arlington during the HRPC fire. Or for that matter, why did the NYS Task Force 2 (USAR Team) go down to Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina?? So that all "immediately close" resources were not stripped.
