From Somers FD:

Fill the Boot Fundraiser For Our Firefighter

On March 6th 2010, Somers volunteer firefighter Mike Walsh lost his house in a devastating fire. The fire service community has shown its true colors and spirit with an outpouring of support for firefighter Walsh and our department with continuous offers of support and assistance. We along with the Walsh family cannot thank you all enough.

This Saturday March 13th, 2010 from 9am-1pm Somers VFD will be having a “Fill the Boot Fundraiser For Our Firefighter” campaign in front of the Elephant Hotel #335 Route 202 in Somers. (See attached Press Release)

You all have shown great support for the Walsh family and us and if your department or agency wants to come and help or make a donation we welcome you all. In order to keep traffic flowing and a safe scene we ask that you only bring a chief truck or a small utility and park on either side of Route 202. Then grab a boot and get it filled!

If your department or agency would like to make a donation please send it to:

Somers Exempt Volunteer Fireman’s Benevolent Association Inc

PO Box 426

Somers NY 10589

C/O The Walsh Fund

Thank you all for all the support and we look forward to seeing you Saturday. Any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us:

EMTBravo will be getting more invovled in this cause. I just have been really busy lately.

Pleasantville VAC voted at our meeting tonight to donate a check of $500 to the family. One behalf of PVAC, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
