who is standing near the engine in the grey hat, blue jeans, navy shirt and sneakers? He is in the first and tenth pic. Only wondering since he has a radio strap and also a pistol. I am aware of several LEO's that are also volunteer FF's and have a feeling that is the case here.

Thats Pleasant Valley's fire captain. He works right down the road from where the fire was were he sells guns and probly didnt think about taking it off.

Ladders are fom 56-11 and 13. Yes the ladders are 35'. 3 of PV's 4 engines carry them.

If you are refering to the shot to the Taconic a good bit is traffic. There was a call for all available man power which of course brought personal vehicles. It urged especially with anything that involves the Taconic to arrive aboard a piece of apparatus and avoid personal vehicles at the scene.
