Darien CT Police Dept. - 2010 Harley Davidson Road King

4 posts in this topic

The Darien CT Police Department recently accepted delivery of a 2010 Harley Davidson Road King, Police Package patrol motorcycle, upfitted by Specialty Warning Systems, in Danbury CT. This unit replaces a 2008 model year, one of two maintained by the Darien PD.

Whelen Engineering LED components make up the entire lighting system, including two 4 " round TIR6s in the outer pursuit lamp housings, TIR3s on each side of the front fender, LIN6s on each side, mounted on the highway crash bars and a TIR3 Light Array behind the windscreen. The Havis Trunk Pack contains three red and three blue LIN6s as well as an LED Strip Lite which mirrors the OEM brake, tail and turn light functions. The siren is a waterproof Whelen unit with 100 watt speaker installed on the inboard passenger side crash bar.

The reflective graphics duplicates the package on Darien's other HD patrol motorcycle, both utilizing the same color combinations and artwork as the rest of the DPD patrol fleet.

Specialty Warning Systems would like to express their thanks to the Darien Police Department for their confidence in us to provide their latest fleet addition and looks forward to a long and cooperative working relationship.

Very nice bike. I just hope it never is parked behind me with the lights going when I am blasting through Darien to get to work. (It wouldn't be the first timerolleyes.gif )

Sweet. Big improvement over the '08 model would be a 96 inch motor and a six speed trannie; as opposed to the '08 which had an 88" and a 5 speed. Also note the heat deflectors over the rear cylinder. Keeps the jewels cool baby.

Nice work on rigging it out.

Ride safe.
