E-288 only had 2 pole lights, not real good scene lighting. the truck was very slow, it had a problem going up Rt 22 at the bottom of the hill, the truck had alot of cancer on the body. For long cribbing they made one section of the hose bed to hold it all. Its also a open cab, The truck's assignments were power lines, vehicular accidents, hazmat, brush fires. so in the dead of winter or raining out the firefighters would get wet and their gear would be oos due to it would be too wet to go in to a fire. yes e 287 is a open cab but it does not need to be replaced due to it is still working as a supply truck.

It is classified as Engine 285 on Westchester County Fire Apparatus List (http://www.westchestergov.com/emergserv/jdocs1/APP2010.pdf), but is dispatched as Rescue 85.

That apparatus list you are quoting is from 2010. The 2012 KME "Rescue 85" has never been referred as Engine 285. While Rescue 85 was under construction the rig was listed as "Reserved", and placed in service as such on its arrival.

They had made revisions more recently if you paid attention, they just forgot to update the date. If they had not updated it, Rescue 85 would not be on the list. Not trying to argue.

If you insist......

I personally would have went with a grappling gun instead of a ladder to reach the hose bed.

Low hose beds, ladders on the side.

Danger likes this

Love that floor and the rig's pretty too.

That's called PRIDE!! Kudos to Armonk for keeping this beauty in such great shape.

Yeah the date and who the commissioner is! It seems like an old list to me, not one they didn't change the date on. Maybe if you paid attention you would've noticed that instead of "not trying to argue"
