Duracell definitely seems to be a supporter of the fire service, and this is just the latest of many of their supporting first responder initiatives. Even though it's marketing for them, they still do it the right way IMHO.

Grammy Award-winning Country Music Star, Tim McGraw, joins Duracell to spotlight first responder stories of bravery with ‘Quantum Heroes’ Video Series

Duracell donated a huge box of AA batteries to a fire house near me.

Not a single thing in that house ran on AAs.

SCBAs: 9 volt, Smoke Detectors for public: 9 volt

Nice gesture, but totally worthless.

I support Duracell, and will not buy anything else....they have always supported the fire service thru donations, so we should support them.

Couple years ago Duracell donated a couple cases of batteries (9volt, A ,AAA) to us to give out to anybody in the district that needed them for smoke alarms.

They are also a American company located in CT.

Give them back, with a note saying thank you. Practically almost ALL CO detectors use AA batteries.

The Scott 4.5's heads up display runs on two AA batteries.
