That's crazy. All that oil money being used to design and build ridiculously large buildings quickly and cheaply, and using poorly trained, low paid labor. And every one has to be bigger and better then the next no matter what. And no life safety codes or standards for high rise buildings.

They had another incident like this, one of many, last February. The fire departments answer to these incidents? Fire Safety Systems? Codes? Sprinklers that work? No. Jet packs. Seriously. Read the article:

And this type of incident today is the result.

i'm confused how news articles are saying that the fire is not spreading inside the building... article on NBCNews made it seem like only the fire floor has interior fire...

seems they use styrofoam with stucco for the exterior, after all Its the freaking desert and any sort of Insulation has to "help" that being said ..........

Here We go, Someone happily went looking and This article covers The next couple questions somewhat ....

Wasn't there a similar fire in Atlantic City where the fire spread up the exterior of a hotel for 20 floors or so, Flame supporting exterior materials and panels were the cause.

I fear this material on building exteriors maybe more prevalent then we would like.
