  8. New Hamburg Fire District has place our new 2009 Tower Ladder into service at New Hamburg Station # 1 located at 15 Channingville Road. The new tower ladder is a 2009 Sutphen SPH with the following specifications: - 100 foot tower ladder with a pre-piped waterway capable of flowing 1500gpm. - 2000gpm pump. - 500 feet of 5 inch supply line. - Cummings ICM Engine - Carries all the typical "Truck Company" equipment for all truck operations. The Run assignment for 53-45 are as follows: - All reported structure fires - Any automatic fire alarm in a commerical building. *** YES our Tower is Really Yellow***
  9. New Hamburg Fire District had 687 calls, Fire & EMS support combined.
  10. The truck does not carry any water.........only in the radiator. The New Hamburg Fire District is located in the Town of Pougkeepsie... that has in most part a excellent hydrant system, most of our hydrants run off large mains with good GPM and are every 400-500 feet apart.
  11. OH MY GOD....I hope that hose is not near... or ON... a parked car.
  12. First of all, this is not new. This has been talk for a long time, it's just the law went into effect. People will run you down even if you have a vest on or not...I dont care big or reflective the vest is, everyone is in a big rush (will it help...I guess) We will see in time.. how many people are still killed wearing a vest. The "BETTER" answer/solution is just close the road down with one of those 20-25 ton firetrucks ....let the people run that... instead of us.
  13. The dept. specs/mounts all the Q sirens in the front bumper, so we try to keep them all uniform. (AKA: yea...come on)
  14. I am sorrry, but your post #2, states, "woodchips".....Still even if its "firewood, 20ft high".......get a bulldozer and try to seperate the pile.
  15. Not for nothing....., all this for WOOD CHIPS burning.........anybody hear of a bulldozer.
  16. The NEW tower ladder committee from the New Hamburg Fire District will be going to the SUTPHEN CORPORATION in Amlin, Ohio, for the final inspection on November 21st. If all goes well, it will be delivered shortly afterwards. I will post some spy shots when I return. Joe Moore, Chief NHFD
  17. Question...... Are the 3 firefighters, 3 more added firefighters to the force, or are they 3 firefighters filling in 3 open spots in the Fairview F.D. ?
  18. NOT.......... a good time to ask the taxpayers for 6.5 million with everything going on in this country right now.
  19. Congratulations....... RICH , I will buy you that beer and many more.
  20. Danger, nice picture. I also have never seen such large stones like that on a roof. IF and only IF you had to cut a Q-deck roof, cut a triangle vent hole, so the Q-deck itself will not sag as much when your cutting/working around the vent hole/bar joist. Otherwise there has been some good points brought up. Just my 2 cents.
  21. WHAT GIVES??? first the IAFF is telling me where and who I SHOULD NOT work for on my "B" job. Now.....there telling me to support Obama.
  22. Hastings Working Fire !!!! ????? looked like a can job.
  23. Take that closet hook and throw it in the river.... give me a 6' "New York" steel hook.
  24. There is advantages and disadvantages on all the "TRUCKS" out there because each fire is different and each building is different, you need to spec out the truck that will work for you and your district.
