  2. Thank you Chris for that info- Im sure acouple of us from P-911 will be in touch so we can get familiar with the aviation unit and the Cans & Can Nots of it for later usage down the road...
  3. Yeahpp- that is the answer we were given here at P-911... Idkk?!?
  4. That was an option, but call was made to WPD Aviation, and they said Chopper is down today and tomm, due to no qualified pilot in the area...
  5. Post Updated as of 23:20... B. Neary- PC417
  6. Yes, it is a rekindle... From this morning: Units- Mahopac FD 18-1-2, 1-3, 2-1, 2-3, 4-2, 6-2; Mahopac Falls FD 19-3-1; Kent FD 16-3-1 Approx. 18-20 acres burnt- Most of the fire was K/D within the first 2 hours of the call by MVFD. Additional tones for MVFD, along with MFVFD mutual aide was hit around 0700 for hot spots around the mountain. Kent FD was later requested due to limited manpower. Most of the major hot spots were extinguished and scene appeared to be secure, when FD units cleared around 11:30 Rekindle was dispatched around 17:08 from Carmel Police reporting large brush fire at same location from this morning. Units: Mahopac: 18-1-2,1-3, 2-3, 4-1, 4-2, 6-2, 7-2; Mahopac Falls: 19-1-3, 3-1 & addiontial manpower transported via 1-3 vehicle; Kent 16-3-1, 6-1; Somers FD 1 eng relocate to MVFD Stat 1 on standby; PCBOES CC 4; NYS Forrest Ranger; Carmel Police Beginning of the call started as 2 major hot spots on opposite ends of the mountain. Crews attempting to reach 2 locations, due to terrain hard to access. As of 20:37, crews were still opperating in the Field, attempting to gain control and hit main hotspots... 21:05, crews working the outside of the fire ring, making sure it doesn't jump the Fire Line, and last of the major hotspots being hit... 23:14- CC4 reports most of the Fire Lines are complete around the houses in the area of the fire, to protet them during the night. Most of the hotspots are now extinguished after some minor flare ups... Hope to be wrapped up within the next half hour to hour... B. Neary- PC417
  7. As i was on my way home from the C-lINE, I noticed it and was wondering what was up with the moon or if it was from a lack of sleep... Well know i know! Get ready to get alil wet i guess...
  8. 5" intake or discharges... I did find the rear 5" tank fill, but i didnt see any discharges... I am unsure is kent is big with the 5" hose, but seems more depts are starting to use it; plus more water can be taken/given in less amount of time with the larger hose... *Either way, Best of luck to Kent FD, and just know the Falls is always here if you need additional help on the scene lol!!!
  9. As it was pointed out to me, are there any hook ups for 5inch?!? Doesn't seem to have any?!?
  10. Well Opie, its been real buddy!!! Gonna miss you in the Falls and talkin over the radio, best of luck pal!!! Brian N- MFVFD- PC 417
  11. When the call came into Put 911, the only info we were given was that the boat was a 26 foot long vessel, unsure of the type though...
  12. I believe: Tarrytown Fd: Best Color Guard, Most Men in Line, Best Engine (not sure which one though) Carmel VAC: Best Ambulance Mount Kisco: Best Ambulance Corp Beekman: Best Ariel And said above- MFVFD taking Best overall 3 years in a row!!!!
  13. Starting pay is around 33,700, and i believe an extra 2000 is added if you have your EMT... This is for Putnam 911, not sure what the other agencies are offering...
  14. I believe it is Hudson Valley Judges for the parade tonight, but hope everyone is ready to get alittle wet!!!
  15. And acouple hours later, we got hit for the Head on PIAA w/ entrapment which turned out to be a DOA... So it was a long and busy night in The Falls...
  16. Brewster is usually a very big parade, with a great turnout from departments both in New York & Connecticut... Majority of the Putnam department march- I know Mahopac Falls will be there... Overall, its a good time...
  17. Another product we use alot is Blue Magic with the Mothers Powerball... Works great for us...
  18. Quick question, acouple of the guys on the team were asking about the Mid Nite Run- and they want to know whats the rules and goal of this event? I am not sure the exact answer, so hope someone can give me a hand with this one...
  19. Troop 1- Mahopac NY Bronze, Silver & Gold Palms Class of 2004
  20. Just got home now from my 8am check in time... Many questions were answered already on here from previous members who were up there... As we were leaving i asked one of the rangers about size of the fire and he sai it was now close to 3000 acres and it is still out of control... I know they plan on having as much help as possible come up and give some time again tomm and monday... Great job by all out there, bc it was one tough job but an excellant job by everyone working together very smoothly...
  21. Sounds like it is... Couple of the guys including myself are actually on our way up in alil bit... Should be interesting to see when we get up there...
  22. I may be incorrect with my post, but when i first arrived on the scene, well passing it- one of your ambulances had a pt being packaged and continued southbond on the TSP, then your 2nd rig arrived after the southbound lane was closed to transport one to the LZ... Maybe i was mistaken, but just throwin out there what i honestly thought i saw... Also in regards to the Utility question- for Putnam county 24-8-1 falls under the utility category...
  23. I drove past the scene last night- 2 cars and 2 bikes were involved in the accident. From what i heard from the fd crew there were a couple other bikes with the group, whether they stopped or not, I dont know. Some other details- 1 pt was transported to WMC via Put Valley 34-7-2, 1 pt was transported by Put Valley 34-7-1 to the LZ which was transported to WMC via Air 1 If I hear anymore, Ill let you all know...
  24. I passed the word to couple guys who run Buckshallow Emergency Lighting from Mahopac FD... soo you may hear from them as well...
  25. Granted, there was a minor incident in Brewster- but the Craft aka Bugsy the River Rat is back in service... had it out running today n works fine... Sorry to Mohegan that it wasnt fixed in time when you guys requested it, but its good to go...
