  2. We actually just installed one in our district and used a regular hydrant not the 6 inch pipe, works great haven't had a problem since we installed it and its been used on multiple fires. If you're ever in Mahopac falls its about 500 feet from the corner of bullethole and hill street

  3. Just another thing and I'm done with this thread. Is the chiefs car owned by a municipality or an incorporated department, if its owned by a municipality then yes lodge a complaint with the commissioners of said district and let them take care of it. If its an incorporated department contracted out to provide a service then the town really has no say in the day to day operation of that vehicle

  4. The fire department should have some sort of first aid training. if they don't and something happened where they were negligent I could see that being a huge lawsuit. Most departments now have Emts or at the lowest Cfrs on there rolls that could hold the scene of anything down till an Als or Bls bus arrives. So to answer your question you'd probably be more liable if something happened to the patient while you sat there and waited for an ambulance than you would be if you held stabilization or stopped the bleeding of a trauma patient.

  5. You would need a really good core of about 60 members with nothing to do and about 8 or 9 ambulances to cover those districts. Plus who would cover Als? Empress has been a fixture in Yonkers for a long time as well. If you were going to start a vac to supplement them like throggs neck vac does in the Bronx that may work otherwise it's too big to handle

  6. It's based of experience outside Fdny ems experience with Fdny ems job and college experience there's points for being a volunteer and then it comes down to the last 5 of your social security number. When I got my list number 4 years ago it said I was 1.2 but when I went to metrotech there were about 85 people getting there civil service with me
