  1. After the days events, everyone got together for a "Buddy Shot" dup post deleted. Jack
  2. Just waiting for a free moment to upload them. Been a little crazy my way too.
  3. Definately a dot com fan here.
  4. Well said. Working for a utility company--I really appreciate it. Although overtime is nice, I still hate to see unknowing homeowners get slapped with (at times) hefty bills for repairs. Contractors digging--they know better--and well kind of deserve to pay for damages if they fail to call in for a locate ticket. Any time you dig--even just to put in a new mailbox post--please call. You could potentially injure your self and/or others, as well as possibly upsetting your neighbors by knocking out their phone, internet, cable, etc... Please be careful!!!
  5. RIP Brother!!! My condolences to Linda and her family.
  6. Putnam Valley Firefighters conducted live fire and mask confidence training evolutions at the Putnam County Fire Training Center. This training is part of our annual department requirement for all interior firefighters. During the mask confidence course, firefighters proceed through a maze of obstacles that challenge their agility as well as technique's. This is all done wearing full protective clothing including self contained breathing apparatus (S.C.B.A.) with the face masks being covered to simulate a smoke filled environment. During the live burn evolution, firefighters simulate an aggressive interior attack of a "basement fire". They must first advance the hose line up two stories to enter the building, stretch the line across the building, then proceed down stairs to the "basement" and attack the fire. Evolutions complied with all NFPA 1403 regulations.
  7. I think the replacment for the ProTech 8 is due out in May. Hopefully these will fit the bill. They are--believe it or not--better the the current TecTrade glove.
  8. Northbound exit ramp to Peekskill Hollow Road
  9. Why does everything here seem to get personal. I was simply trying to get so things straightened out and people are getting offended and making personal attacks--more indirect ones but still. Like I said--I was only trying to give the correct or updated info since I was there. If personal attacks were not meant then why was the issues brought up by Chris moved to a separate thread not related to this incident. If I am looking for info on the accident--I would choose this thread. If I was looking to converse about IC and so on--I would look for a thread related to that. Not to say valid points were not brought up--they were--but seemed to be an indirect shot and maybe better suited in another thread. Brian--wasn't trying to ruffle your feathers, I gave the short version of the ambulance situation. Yes one transported to the lz, and the other was released from the scene and did a "drive by" so to speak in route back to quarters. And since we are all adults here--if someone has a problem with me or what I say, please feel free to contact ME so we can constructively discuss the issue. Thank You and have a good night
  10. Thanks for not taking my response personally.
  11. We are in the process of changing from the Streamlight Lite Box to the Streamlight Fire Vulcan. The Fire Vulcan is much lighter and less bulky than the Lite box and has the "seat belt" type strap. They also have the "tail light" LED's which can help you keep a visual (so to speak) of your fellow ff's. We have always had good luck with Streamlight products. The Bright Star I have not used personally but they do look like a Streamlight knock off. Just my $0.02
  12. Money I spend here--is money well spent in my book. If someone disagree's with the ads, or the donation request (WHICH IS NOT MANDATORY) then-- as easy as you found the site--lose it--and don't let the door hit ya on the way out!!! Seth--thanks for all you do!!!

  16. I wish my problem was that easy. I cannot log in at work--I get an error message from my company saying it is an un authorized site and could be harmful--violates company policy etc... Meanwhile there are others in the shop that search some--"perv" sites and they apparantly do not violate policy. How can I fix that one?

  24. Yes it is. It is a cross band repeater owned and maintained by the Putnam Valley FD. The repeater is located on the Tinker Hill Tower in Putnam Valley. This freq. has only been used for the last year or so. There was a problem with our old freq. 46.38 is only used for dispatching agencies. All units use 46.54/46.44 (chan 5) when communicating with the dispatch center, and their designated fireground channel(s) on the fireground.
