INWOOD — A massive fire tore through an Inwood building late Tuesday night, sending more than 100 firefighters racing to the scene, officials said.
The blaze erupted inside a two-story building at 4945 Broadway, near West 207th Street, just after 11 p.m., part of a row of commercial buildings, according to the FNDY.

On 11/23/11 the Hillcrest FD and Hatzollah Ambulance Squad was dispatched to a one car MVA on Route 45 in the village of New Square. It appears that the on duty, code enforcement officer for the Town of Ramapo had a heart attack while driving. The car stuck a fire hydrant.

Currently NYPD are in full riot gear gearing up to shut down occupy wall street. On site are various media outlets, NYPD, DSNY, FDNY and reportedly but not confirmed LRAD. There are several carting companies on site dropping off dumpsters. Though by the time many of you read this, it will likely be long over and done with. OWS is or will virtually be no more.
What is LRAD?
Also is that live ffed still up. I am having trouble viewing it.

Its incredible that when the Miami P.O. finally does pull over, he pulls over to the left shoulder of the roadway.

I recently observed a blue unmarked Tahoe doing traffic enforcement on the Thruway.
That is why I asked the intial question.
I have known for years that the NYSP were not using unmarked cars.
I guess things have changed, and for the better.
Also, the current superintendent of the NYSP was a former Inspector with the NYPD.
I used to work with him years ago and know that he is very pro-active.

Are the troopers currently using un-marked vehicles for traffic enforcement/patrol?

Question : What would you have done, if you were the individual who caught the ball?
I heard this morning that the value of the ball is in the six figures.

The guy who started this is a volunteer from Rockland county. He should worry about what would have happened if it happened on the N.Y.S. thruway. I'm sure N.Y.City would have been on the scene even if the accident was in Westchester.
ttomcap, my question was one of curiousity. I know that the accident actually first occurred in Westchester, so I was curious to know if Westchester was notified.
Just to let you know, that there are some depts in Rockland that see more work and do more runs then Pelham Manor.

Being on the boarder of Westchester and the Bronx, did any Westchester agencies respond to this incident.

Unfortunately, they are reporting that this is a case of friendly fire.
Tragic for all involved.
RIP.

It stated in the journal news article, - "The firefighters' injuries were described as minor"

What companies did Mt. Vernon use at the scene?
Anybody have a rundown.
-
My opinion, Good engine placement. MVO left the front of the building open for the placement of truck companies.
Also very quick knock down of the fire. The fire was being knocked down before the roofman reached the roof. That is pretty good.

This is good video.
Note, that there are four parts to the video.

FIRE APPARATUS STOLEN IN VERMONT:
Firefighters in southern Vermont returned from a fire Wednesday to find one of their fire rigs missing. Wonderful. The
rescue truck was discovered missing from the firehouse early this morning after Firefighters returned from a fire in
Williamsville from 0300-0500. The apparatus disappeared sometime between Monday and Wednesday morning. Be
On The LookOut for a red 2005 medium duty rescue squad with emergency lights and “East Dover” lettered on its
side and hopefully still contains medical and rescue equipment.

Seth,
I view this site often, and would not be happy to see it go.
I would have no problem in paying a yearly fee.
That is a fair way of operating the site to all who use it.
But more important then the site, I wish you good health.
Good Luck.
(my donation is on the way)
