I would tend to agree with you. One can read between the lines in this story and see it for what it is. Was this not the same forum that recently went crazy over Whitney Houston? This forum had little trouble jumping to conclusions in that case. But, many are hesitant when it's a fellow FF/LEO/Medic, etc. Civil service is just like any other line of work. We have winners and losers, and some who made it onto the job who never should have.

HATS OFF TO THE FIRE FIGHTERS FOR NOT SELLING OUT THEIR FUTURE BROTHERS.
SHAME ON THE COPS.
This is just the way politicians in this country do business with unions and workers.
Either accept their cuts in pay, benefits or they will screw you in other ways.

I just think that this "show" ran its course a long time ago. It was cool when it was about building custom bikes..but its far from that now and I find it an embarrassment.
I agree !!

Several years ago the whole board ofThe Millwood fire comissioners with the exception of one was given the gate when their turn to run came up.
There is now a mix of figh fighters and civilians, the good old boy culture has lost its power.

In order to force a vote on expenditure of monies a petition must be presented that represents a certain percentage of the of the assessed value of the fire district properties.
The tax payers need to attend every fire district meeting and read the legal notices in the designated paper every day. How many of us do this? Not many, that is how these people get away with what they do.

What qualifications did Pagano have that propelled him from the rank of fighter to commissioner?
He was union president most of career prior to becomig commissioner and hug around John Spencer. Did he ever get his hands dirty?
By all reports the new commissioner was a hands on hard working officer that has respect of men.

She said she was late for work but had time to go to the police station to file a complaint.

Should't paragraph 11 say "decreased" instead of "increased"?

Saw the Fire Chief on the news.
He was wearing a pink shirt under his uniform shirt.
He said he had no problem with firefighters doing the same, he just would not authorize the bright pink shirt as an outer garment.
I don't have a problem with that and am surprised the union is making an issue of it.
So then I guess that means that it is ok to wear pink socks as long as you wear black socks over them. Sounds like a little chicken ---- to me. Many FDs are allowing members to wear pink Ts for a specified period of time during the month of October in support of cancer awareness. I gues there are still a few dinosaurs out there.ote name

The City of White Plains pulled all of their Gamwell Boxes when 911 came along. There were sold at a little known public auction before any of the guys on the job even knew what happened to them.

Thanks, Seth I was wondering about that.

Went on Saturday night. Great tribute to our fallen brothers, by a great duo Dick Nagle and Jeanne McCabe. I worked with Dick in WPFD in he '60s before he left for greener pastures. His departure was out loss for sure.
I went to the play Friday night, my wife andI really enjoyed it. Very powerfull ending.
