I love bumper cross-lays, but I think it is going too far...
-
Can that even be characterized as a bumper then, lol, I don't see any protection that it gives to the vehicle. Or is that even an "approved" bumper by DOT?

FDNewYork, com has a great site containing Runs per apparatus, top 10, box look-up, firehouse locations, etc, etc, etc...!

Awesome! The map may be a few years old, however, as it shows Manhattan Engine 36 still in service and Engine 15 at it's Henry St. quarters prior to it's move into Ladder 18 and Battalion 4's quarters. I've never seen a map of the Boxes. Quick question, does anyone know if the first numbers of the boxes match up with the Battalions that the boxes are in? I could be wrong, but they seem to be on the map.
Yea the Map and Chart is not up to date. Map and chart still has L114 by itself and not with E201 and B40

Are those Fort Worth trucks Mid-Engine or just have a stack instead of normal exhaust.
-
I was going to ask what that was. I've never seen anything like it. Is it just used for additonal power?
It's part of the Georgetown Railroad, which is a short line that serves and is owned by Texas Crushed Stone.
Bingo Bango... Sorta, lol. It provides better traction by balancing power between the locomotive and the slug. A "Mate" on the other hand has a power plant to produce power.

No more Texas DPS cars with Freedoms.... Fleet switching to Libertys, what a shame...
-
My bad. After further inspection I see that now, lol.

Judging by the badge, looks like a Homeland Security unit...

Do these guys carry?
I don't think they do, could be wrong. I believe only special Metro Units, Constablury Units, and Diplomatic Police Units carry weapons

So I'm guessing it is Britain's version of MTA Police ESU.... Good Concept and love the truck.

The Cab looks a little longer. Plus different manufacture equals different ladder...

While searching through Ebay today, found this!! Anyone know if they got a new engine, are they disbanding?
-
You gotta remember... FDNY did run a few Ferrara Engines and might have one still in front line service, do not quote me on this lol. Do they still have a Ferrara at the acedemy?
-
FDNYtrucks.com has one on there, but I know they added LEDs since that was taken.
-
I don't think there is much of a savings.... Could be wrong, but even with 4x4 out of the picture you still have the suspension lowering so I'd think they would about equal.

West Hamilton Beach's Mack looks really good when they had it refurbed in 99, I think they have added some LED's to it since.

Well, there is a good reason. The 4WD Tahoes are not pursuit rated. When NYSP purchased the 2WD, they were dropped several inches to meet Division's standards. Without the modification, they were determined to be too great of a roll-over risk.
I would never want to be in a pursuit with a 4x4 Tahoe, I have one and can say at high speeds in a turn, it doesn't really feel safe at all.
