  1. You would be amazed at the # of people that make those bracelets. School kids, scouts, military, the list goes on.
  2. All, Im now working on filling out the Hose Reel trailer that accompanies the 1954 Willys Fire Jeep. Im looking to make it look how a dept might have a hose reel trailer, with associated equipment and the like, back in the day. It is basically nothing more than a big reel that holds 600-800 feet of 2.5 inch hose and a equipment box. I think I have most of the 2.5 inch appliances from yester year.. From top left to bottom right, I have the following: 2.5 hydrant gate, stack of 2.5 double males/females, 2.5 to 1.5 leader, 2.5 inch nozzle used with the Elkhart ground monitor (pictured above) 2.5 wye, 2.5 water thief, 2.5 inch clappered siamese. Also on the trailer is the following: shovel, sledge hammer, 2 axes, 2 4 foot pry bars, a Huxtool, tin roof cutter, hose clamp, hose jacket, Elkhart ground monitor mount "Hose Control", 2 2.5 inch play pipes, 2 spanners and a hydrant wrench. It's still a work in progress, with some appliances not totalled finished with rehab yet, (like the water theif), but we're getting closer. Is there anything else that you can think of that might be missing? I have attached some other pictures to give you an idea of the scale of the trailer.
  3. Anyone stick around for the Attorneys Panel, with the ongoing case of the woman who has legal funding from an "ACLU type" of organization who is currently fighting with a NY fire district to get the district's FIRE COMPANY's meetings to fall under the Open Meetings laws? If she wins, then the public can come and observe your DEPARTMENT/COMPANY meeting.. No, Im not being confused with a DISTRICT meeting.. She wants access to COMPANY meetings.. No kidding.
  4. Somers's Engine 183 was there, I liked the American Flag on the grill. There was some questioning of the elephant on the doors, obviously they dont know the town hostory. The Key Note speaker was Chief William Goldfeder, who gave a great presentation.
  5. Marlboro has one on the first out engine, and it is hooked up everytime we hit a hydrant. If we actually use it is dependent on the water pressure at the hydrant, which can vary hydrant to hyrdant and time of day.
  6. Seth, Please update the time for this IA.... Looks like potential HUGE tragedy was averted. 0900 Call for EMT bravo site going down this Saturday 0901 EMT Bravo site members have a renewed appreciation for the site 0902 EMT Bravo Members from over 6 counties self dispatch for mutual aid to the site via donations. IC did not ask for Mutal Aid, but members respond on own accord. 0905 EMT Bravo starts receiving influx of needed mutual aid. 2200 EMT Bravo scene is placed under control, no need for Coroner. 2210 EMT Bravo site lives on for quite some time. 8. I found these pictures at a Muster. No info was given. Crazy stuff..
  9. I found the muster at the above listed location. It was a good time, there were some cheap goodies to be found in the vendor area, which is always good. Lots of rigs, great food, and perfect weather!
  10. Ok, so what address was the brokem toe incident at????
  11. Anyone got a street address for Eisenhower Park on Rt 121??
  12. In the Peekskill ladder picture, was that the old paper factory that was located inbetween Peekskill Middle School and the old Drum Hill High School?
  13. Unfortunately, it's not going to be done for this years muster season, but that just means it will be ready for next years! I need to contact the Hudson Valley Parade to see if they allow "privately owned" appparatus in the Lake George parade. I dont care about having it judged.
  14. It will be making the parade/muster circut next year. I'm almost ready for paint. Im still looking for some fittings and fire equipment for it, but every week it gets closer and closer to being done.
  15. That truck was in the big inspection bay down at Ferrara when I was inspecting my engine down there..
  16. Great picture of Marlborough's 1937 Dodge/American LaFrance.
  17. As the project gets closer to done, I'll post some more pictures. Pictured here is a 200 gallon tank trailer with a booster reel that is towed by the jeep, that gives it a "pump and roll" capability. The trailer is 95% done, all thats left is the rear brake lights and hose connections to hook it to the Jeep. I installed a non functional 1960's vintage Motorola Motrac radio in the Jeep. I posted some of the literature from back in the day (1947-1950's) when they sold these jeeps. Some of it is pretty funny. I guess this was the first "mini attack" of it's kind, decades before they got "popular".
  18. All of our pumpers have 2,000 feet of LDH, and 1,500 GPM pumps. Only about 25% of our district has hydrants.
  19. An interesting firematic take on Toby Keith's song, Shoulda been a Cowboy as found on You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLkyqgD072w
  20. All, I was at a muster in PA today and found a picture of a CJ2A fire Jeep and matching trailer. It was taken in July of 1981 at the old Kensico Dam Muster. The Jeep is red with a white hood, windshield, and compartments. Im guessing 1947-1950's model year. I can see the red "60 control" plates on it that were on all Westchester County apparatus at the time. It has a 400 or 500 GPM front mounted pump, 4 lengths of suction hose on top(2 4 inch, and 2 2.5 inch Im assuming) The trailer is a painted red, with a rectangular metal tank with a booster reel on the top. Does anyone know more about this jeep, if it is still in service, and if not, where it may of gone? Or does anyone have any more pictures of it? I'l try to get the picture scanned and posted up. Thanks!
  21. Sir, Is there any chance I could get contact info for someone associated with it? I am restoring one and would love to get some info and take some pictures. PM me for more details. Thanks!
