Joe, From what we can hear on the audio tapes from an earlier thread, there was cahos for quite awhile. I would say it is safe to assume the scene was NOT secure and deemed safe for EMS to enter. I agree with you that it is just a bunch of monday morning quaterbacking.

Amazing audio! More shocking than the PD audio I posted. Excellent example of the ICS system in operation as well.

First 16 min of dispatch tapes. God bless the officers and other first responders walking into this ghastly scene! My hats off to the dispatcher in the tape. Cannot beleive how she was able to handle all the radio chaos!

Thank you for posting this. It is so important to support Autism and other learning/physical disabilities. In my quest to become a music educator and music therapist, I have had the honor of teaching tons of children with various disabilities varying in severity. These children and adults have touched my heart and are the most loving and sincere people have have ever met. With such an increase in learning and physical disabilities over the past years I can't help but to pray that over time, causes are discovered and treatments are found/developed.

As many of you may know April is "Autism awareness month". Tonight also starts the "Light it up blue" month for autism awareness. This month carries a special meaning for MoFire390 and myself. Our younger cousin was diagnosed with autism at an early age. She is now 10 years old and wishes for nothing more than good times and to keep other children form becoming autistic. If you would like to show your support follow these simple steps:
Step 1) buy a blue light bulb
Step 2) Put light bulb in porch light or lamp visable from the front of the house
    Step 3) Turn it on
Blue light bulbs can be found at most party supply stores and Walmarts.
For more information on light it up blue go to: www.lightitupblue.com

Thanks in advance for your support. As always, Stay safe!

One thing that has always bothered me about these situations is that NO ONE in the media or even in the public seems to think about the officers involved. Do they think that it is easy to pull the trigger on another person? What is that officer thinking right now? Events like this stay with you for the rest of your life. How many times will the officer ask himself if he did the right thing?
My thoughts and prayers go out to these officers during this rough time.

Yesterday was "Doctor Day," my visit to the doctor's office. It's about a 40 minute drive toward Key West from where we're at in the Keys. There's a great fishermen's cooperative out that way, so after the doc's we headed over for their famous "Lobster Ruben." The location couldn't be more scenic; right on the Bay-side, with outdoor seating in the shade.
I wasn't initially surprised to see two servicemen in combat fatigues. What I was surprised to see was the "101st Airborne" patches on their sleeves. As we sat down, I nodded to them and they gestured back in a friendly manner naturally. Soldiers are like that.
After lunch, I couldn't help myself, so I walked over and said "excuse me gentlemen, I'd just like to say thank you for your service to our country." We exchanged handshakes, and I told them I was a retired fireman. They were curious to know, so I told them where I had worked. They were so genuinely grateful for a simple gesture of thanks, I could just tell as we had a simple chat.
I was curious myself. I know most questions shouldn't be asked regarding operations, etc, but I gingerly said "101st Airborne. You guys are a long way from home." One responded (I was able to see his Lt. bar in the middle of his blouse, the other's I couldn't make out) that they had flown down from Atlanta for the day on a training mission, and they were so happy to be at such a beautiful place for lunch.
I felt inside such a feeling of happiness for them. I could imagine what these two soldiers of the United States Army had seen in the past ten years, and just the fact that they were able to be there, in that spot, having a great lunch......well most of us here on Bravo have not forgotten what our service members continue to sacrifice for the good of this nation, so you know what I mean.
So here's a salute to the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles." God Bless them, and all of our other service members, out there STILL fighting the fight, dying for us, protecting us from the evils that exist in the world today. If you see a service member, don't forget to say thanks.
    NEVER FORGET!

I imagine the people who work at TMC have a difficult job, and aren't paid enough.
Hey "everyonegoes", how's that workin' out for you, acclimating to a Forum of brother and sister firefighters, cops and medics? And you wouldn't want to work with them? lol
Quick story down here in FLA. I called from my mobile while driving the 18 Mile Stretch through the Everglades because a rage roader drove into the back right corner of a slower car on the one lane highway. About two minutes later, a Florida State Police chopper was hauling *ss up the highway to take down the crazed motorist, who continued all the way out of my sight speeding on the shoulder. Got to Florida City....they had HER in cuffs!
Strangely the woman's car had Michigan tags on it.
Thanks whoever answered my call. You probably saved a life or two. Now that's good service.

Try being that "lazy POS" sitting in a chair all day yielding phone calls. I've been there, done that, and it sucks...mainly because people like you have your head so far up your (self) that you don't even want to consider the other end of it. I agree with everyone on this thread, that is, except you.
And as far as that last comment, "cause you would have a miserable time." That is just messed up. You make yourself sound like a trouble maker, which coerces my opinion of you. You should give up the argument. You are severely outnumbered on this, and I wouldn't mind if this thread disappear from the front page.

Is it really all of us who don't get it, or is it just you? It's been clearly established you were wrong. Just plain wrong. Yet, you continue to want us to take your side over this calltaker, who it sounds was just doing her job, and doing it well. Why should we blindly side with you over your unwarranted and nasty criticisms? Just because your "on the job"? Your not impressing anyone here. Everyone here is "on the job". You keep doubling down, yet you remain in the wrong. Why should we side with you? You have the nerve to come on this forum, call out this dispatcher, and now, in retrospect, we see it's for no legitimate reason. In all your posts, you have failed to identify how this woman was incompetent.
As for your last thought, I'm glad I don't work with you either, because you seem to have a poor attitude, no attention to detail, and a short fuse. I would have a miserable time dealing with that full-time. Additionally, if while driving "55 mph on a highway" you can't see the MPM, then you may have serious vision issues. I don't want someone like that backing me up. I also don't want someone backing me up who doesn't have the integrity and fortitude to admit when he or she made a mistake. Finally, I don't want anyone working with me who sterotypically believes workers may be inferior, just because they are female. So for once, you said something I agree with, I don't want to work with you either. :-)
