  1. More s*** for us to ride in just like our ferrera ladders
  2. They jumped out of the second floor window onto the porch roof. But since there was snow and ice on it they slid off. If no snow and ice they would of been fine on the porch roof. There injuries are from sliding off of the porch roof not jumping directly out if the window. Speedy recovery to the brothers
  3. All the new rigs we have been getting have cameras and these def need them cuz you can see anything out the back
  4. I was under the impression the tip load was 250 but I maybe wrong. The back step in the ferrera stayed with tradition instead of changing it like the engines and towers there is soo much more tool storage and places for other things in our rear mount than the tower ladders. It's rediculous that there is hardly and storage on the tower ladders no place for your bunker gear or helmets and barley any room for your tools
  5. If they were smart they would refurb some of them and put them in the spare pool because it is just about depleted of tillers
  6. Tillerman us usually trained in house. It's usually the ov who drives the tiller M ave. before we got our ferrera we had a 94 seagrave as a spare for the interm one of the worst rigs I have ever ridden in had no glass on the windows where we rode backwards roof leaked. I hope the new cabs are like the ferreras lots more room to hold tools and such in the cabs. I would guess the tip load is 250 that's what the aerials are.
  7. All the new towers and tillers have them. And the new haz mat and im not a 100% sure about the chief rigs but I think they are getting them also The ferreras have the federal signal aerodynic bars
  8. There aren't many tillers in the spare pool. Many tiller companies had to resort to using rear mounts. Your post made it sound like you were referring to 40s as if it was there normal rig
  9. 40 truck is using a spare I believe it's 175s old rig 40s tiller caught on fire in qtrs over the summer at one point in time they were using my companies old seagraves rear mount
  10. I was talking about the ones we have now. Not the ones with the space kap.
  11. These new rigs are shitty with the slid out tray equipment always gets stuck behind it and in some houses you can't slide the tray out. The excursions were a big hit and were well liked curious to see how these new ones are with the space bubble on it do
  12. Grinshaw retired 2 or 3 years ago I had him in probie school also defiantly a role model for anyone who is in physical fitness he was an absolute gentleman
  13. Been in 6 companies in 8 years. He's a problem we've had brothers who are vegetarians and have accommodated them with no problem he must of done something to piss the brothers off
  14. It doesnt matter what training he had or didn't have its common sense
  15. Yes I know how the H.A are and what 1%er bikers gangs are. I was just saying dont always jump the gun and automatically say it was the H.A. because there were a bunch of bikers breaking the law...and it just so happens it wasnt the H.A. It was the 300 mc
  16. It could of been a bunch of punks on crotch rockets who dont respect anyone or anything
  17. Why do the hells angels have to be automatically brought into this ? Because they were bikers disobeying the law? Did you see what colors they were wearing ? I happen to know a bunch of H.A. members who are probably the most charitable people I know , they joined the club because thats what they believe in. I'm pretty certain that they wouldn't bring about bad press to their club considering all the heat they have been under latley.
  18. Great for yonkers terrible for us.....sucks to lose someone like chief sweeney especially now with.all thats going on with everything
  19. those arent jorts those are capri's
  20. this accident was nothing like the bus accident in the bx a few years ago....that extrication was far more involved than this one the roof of the bus was basically can opened...with countless traumas...and that was a very technical extrication....this was your simple stablilize and remove the passengers like bull said. So i agree with him extrication 101. just because its a bus it doesnt mean it has to be a technical operation. With your size up you can determine the extent of the operation. you can have passenger car accidents that can be way more involved than this one, would you call that one extrication 101 because its a passenger car rather than a bus? Every run is different and nothing is the same
  21. Agreed bull....extrication 101
  22. I agree also. I also think that if your parent was kill in the line duty you should be able to have the job if you want, once you complete the background and physical bunch of my friends are getting screwed by the city and the judge
  23. I agree with jbe just give me basic info and cids so I can start to sizing up to what kind of building I'm going to and what type of emergency I'm going to
