  1. Technology is amazing huh? Yeah its getting late and gotta go to sleep but can't stop listening!! Sadly, though, it reminds me of listening to New Orleans and Katrina.
  2. I was at the Open House today as well and just want to say thanks to you and the others at MNRR. I hadn't been there in a few years so it was nice to see the displays again as well as the courtesy, patience, and knowledge of the Metro North employees. I was also noticing today how much work must go into preparing the facility for such a huge public event. And only for five hours, once a year!!!! Again thanks to you and your co-workers for making a fun event for young and old!!
  3. Interesting....thanks for the info. I wonder what the plan is for them? I suppose the City owns those trucks?
  4. WOW!! What a pair this guy has! He must be some "schmoozer" to convince everyone to go along with this!
  5. What is your thought on this situation?
  6. Thanks for that info.I think North Salem is what I had in mind but typed North Castle.
  7. Is the Town of Cortlandt the only Town in Westchester that utilizes the County PD for patrol? I think it is but Ive thought that some small towns and hamlets like Lewisboro or North Castle would benefit from some type of localized County Patrol as well.
  8. Everyone here is a verified member and come from different walks of life. There interest in"buffy" things and"toys" should be respected as well as any other topic.
  9. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
  10. Has this book been seen in book stores yet?
  11. Sad but true I think. Now it seems EVERY parade is how you saw it tonight. There are some Departments though that still present a good turn-out but it is always the same ones. I guess people just don't have the time anymore. Jobs, both parents working etc.... One day hopefully it will turn back around. I thought 9/11 might have done it.
  12. Interesting idea. But be careful of those posting meaningless garbage just to earn "points."
  13. I'll believe it when i see it!!
  14. Don't forget the hot dogs and Texas Taters!!! MMmmmmmmmm!!!!
  15. Don't feel bad, I thought the same thing at first before I remembered the "other" Red Hook!
  16. Is there any scanner programming software that is compatible with macs? I have a Uniden 250 that I know would be much easier to program using the computer but I dont' think I can because I use only Mac computers. Am I right about this?

  18. You know, what's the use of having a police escort if they can't properly protect the dignitaries car? I know this was kind of a freak accident and these kind of incidents are pretty rare. But, this was the Governor of a major State driving on a heavily traveled roadway. I think the police need to examine how they execute these escorts so the "protectee" is better protected. What if someone had planned this on purpose? Seems like it would be pretty easy to pull off.
  19. Do we have any pictures of this vehicle?
  20. Went to Iona with Kevin. Very sad to read that story today. God Bless Kevin and his family.
  21. Hey I haven't heard about a date for the annual Mahopac St Pats Day parade. Is it this weekend? Anyone have a confirmation?
  22. 10-4. Thanks!
  23. Kind of embarassed to ask this but is this system UHF or VHF? Just need to make sure my scanner programming is right.
  24. Yeah Seth we've used MacMall before. No problems to report. It would be good to shop around but it seems that Macs are pretty much the same price wherever you shop. Check out B&H photo in Manhattan too. They carry most Mac products and their service is outstanding! Good luck with whatever you decide. Get well soon!1
