Stopped in the place it is being striped and detailed in today, one of our POV's is getting detailed, they said in a week or so the 2nd one will be done, they also offered to pull it out so I could get some photos of it.
Will any of these be serving in Yorktown or just Yonkers?

Guys.. This dept has been doing this for years this is not new. If you look close you will see the lights do not block any doors or equip on the side.As for the cost, the members paid out of their own pockets. And yes, they still respond with this rig. You have dept's all over that install lights for Christmas again this is not new.
Thank you!
If anyone feels this is a hazard or a waste or anything that was said against it, write them a letter or call them, I am sure they'll appreciate the feedback. This thread was posted only to show another department in the holiday spirit, not for people to rant about it and say basically how stupid it is. We may see it differently, but it cost the members money, not the taxpayers money to the department.

This is indeed a horrific incident. my prayers and condolences go to first responders, teachers, students & parents effected by this shooting. I would say the reporters and media too, but what theyre doing (Shoving cameras in these poor kids faces) is completely and utterly wrong.

Do you an address for this young man. I'm not on face book.
Negative on multiple sources I checked.

Also the very bottom of the screen where it says the site was designed by Firehouse Solutions for Croton FD. Someone should either fill the rest of the information out (road name, city, state, zip) or remove that piece altogether.
They can/will not remove who the website is from. This (NICE) website was posted less than 24 hours ago, I am certain things still need to be worked on/added.

Great story, beginning to see more and more stories like this, true brotherhood no matter the age.
Mark Kelly Olson is a 10-year-old boy who was diagnosed with very high-risk, acute lymphocytic leukemia in May and was later adopted by the Arnold Air Force Base Fire Department as their new deputy fire chief. Olson is the son of Mark Olson, an Aerospace Testing Alliance operations controller at AEDC.
Lopes, a retired Air Force chief master sergeant, said, "The response we got was overwhelming, not just from local departments, but from firefighters around the world, including Air Force, Department of Defense, civilian and volunteer fire departments from everywhere imaginable."

It's a shame that drivers/officers can't just use common sense based on dispatch information.
Some calls that I don't see automatically requiring a Code 3 response: Mulch fire in a parking lot, PD on scene of a PDAA requesting a washdown, 2nd and subsequent apparatus responses to small fires reported to be out, mmm... those are just a few that readily come to mind.
Or "CO Alarm No Symptoms Call Back From Alarm Company, Dead Battery" or "Low Hanging Wires Off The Road"

To those of you who are criticizing the video and or the department, if you look at the comments section in the video the person (poprecords1) who uploaded this originally commented that "The set-up is designed to (mostly) stay on the truck and not effect its utility. The system that controls the lights and the speakers are removed when not at the parade. The lights and work do not cost the taxpayers a penny."
I know you'll hate me for this, but You said "Mostly doesn't effect utility" but the items on the ladder, by the pump, in the bucket, don't effect it? I saw the guys comments, still doesnt answer my question.

Nice Shots Jimmy! Very well done with the editing & position.

Hopefully some day they decide that chiefs, or more importantly their drivers could use the back up camera. We got em in the new 4 door dodge ambulances, and it is a godsend. All emergency vehicles should have em.
Not sure why they don't already.. I've seen box trucks, pepsi trucks, small mail trucks having them... Beats me... lol

Poor dispatchers..

They've had a ton of problems with that rig. If they get called for m/a when the spare is in service (like it was just recently since their newest truck had another breakdown) do they still go out or do they stay in district?
You mean squuuaad 15? It's an American Lafrance isn't it? Pleasantville has one like it, not an engine though. i wonder if they get the same problems...
