  7. Don't know the Firefighters Name, was watching Channel 7 news before and saw a Piece on a Malverne L.I. Firefighter that was killed this morning. During Routine Sunday Morning training he was on top of the Rescue and it was pulled out without knowing he was on top of it. He was crushed by a "Beam" supposedly. Don't recall all info but low Garage door clearance was reason, crushed in-between Truck and Building. If more information can be obtained would be appreciated. He was a 6 year member of the Department.
  8. I am a fan of them myself. The visibility through the Windshield is Awesome, also have to agree with Seth love them even more after the Re-design. It's definitly different, Bridgeport Conn.'s are good looking rigs.

  20. pretty much as I know it, there has to be an american flag (obviously) and a minimum of one guard, carrying anything or not (not sure which side he has to be on if there is only one). If there are multiple American flags there has to be two guards (one on each side). if there are multiple flags (Ex. State, POWMIA, Dept.or Comp. flag.) the American Flag has to be all the way to the right (as if u are in the colorguard, the left if u are looking at them from the front). Banners I believe are optional. Also if not mistaken all Guardsmen have to wear all matching Items, Citation Cords, Silver or Gold Collar Brass, Badges. Etc.
  21. 19
  22. Disagree, Depends on the Department. There are Departments in this County that Bust there Asses to win and they see work........Simply Pride and Honor?, Also maybe showing the Taxpayers that there $400,000 piece of Apparatus they Purchased 5-10 years ago is being taken care of and mantained and not just kept looking like a hunk of Garbage. This is really concerning the End of the Statement. And Yahoo's? maybe just Dedicated Members, Yet agian depends on the Department, not going to say that there aren't some out there that should concentrate on more than "Social" Events. I disagree with the Siren during a "Dress" Parade with the exception of maybe the Host Department (Alittle noise within reason isn't that Horrible). And Yes there are Rules for Disqualifacations of certain Judging Assoc. on uses during Dress Parades.
  23. Kinda varies to each department. My Departments procedure is usually new one every two years, goes to the head chief and they are passed down by rank (Chief to 1st. Asst. to 2nd......) After the 6 years as a Chiefs Vehicle its become the "Spare" or a "Utility" Vehicle....Then from there Back to the Village for whatever they wish. Last one (1997 Expedition) went to the Water Department as a Confined Space Operations Unit. Get ur Moneys Worth out of them. The Trend thats seems to be happening is the Get new when u go in and keep it till u go out.
  24. And it goes ON.......................AND ON.....................................AND ON................
  25. Montrose has them on a few rigs, like them alot, depending on the color. I think it should also compliment the paint scheme.
