  1. Really!!! There is no need to apologize! You simply posed a simple question out of pure honest personal interest and curiosity that became a political s*** storm as usual. I appreciate EVERYONE’s thoughts and professional opinions, but to continue to turn every damn thing into a political push is ridiculous. Honestly thats what is a complete turn off on this site! I agree personnell is by far extremly imparitive (No debate from me), but the kid was just asking a simple question. It would be nice to see a topic stick to the point rather then become argumentive.

  4. That random "Dude" playing with the stabilizing jacks, just so happens to have stayed at a holiday inn last night, so we let him play firefighter. Maybe we should make our drivers wear SCBA's while driving, since the motto was, Always use proper PPE.... Seriously! This "Dude" is a highly respected member of our department and always operates with the upmost safety. If you want to ask legitimate questions that’s fine.

  11. 71 and I had a chance to see this rescue first hand today thanks to 62-2 and soon to be 62-4. Very nice apparatus! Great job to those who were on the committee. Best of of luck to our brothers to the north with your new 62-55 k.
  12. jjc Great Point! There is a large concern with this issue. The scary part of this is that the fire can advance quickly and spread through out areas of the home where the home owner my not even know, similar to what happen this past Friday. Within the dummy chimney is a vent from the boiler room, which provids natural air flow to the inside of the dummy chimney. As the fire begins to consume the dummy chimney, it builds strength and also begins to spread rapidly through the eves and attack space. Before you know it 1/2 of the structure is involved unbeynounced to the home onwer who maybe inside enjoying a nice fire in the fireplace or sleeping. He/she won't notice the smell because he would most likely attribute it to the fire in the fireplace.

  21. Thanks to a friend of mine in Stony Point we were able to get some additional spy shots of E-121, which just arrived at Ruscon
  22. Thats a nice looknig engine!
  23. Thanks Fergi... Yes, this is a shorter apparatus. We wanted to ensure that we maintain a shorter wheel base; however we want to have an engine that would still provide us with enough space for our equipment. The new engine is approx. 5-6 feet shorter than current 121 and is 3 feet longer then E-122. In addition; it will equip us with some other options that E-122 does not have such as front end intake, on board foam, and additional 480 gallons of water and a dedicated area for our spare extrication tools. With our coverage of Rt. 9, we felt that these additional options would be extremely beneficial for our response to accidents and vehicle fires.
