  1. Does anyone know which nysp troop is on i-684 and what requency they operate on? Also what frequency do the help trucks work on? I would like to monitor traffic conditions to work. thanks for any help.
  2. we are getting a smeal ladder on a spartan cab black over red to match tl2.
  3. It is going to be traded in as part of the new ladder purchase.
  4. Yonkers does have 2 hme/smeal ladders and I think they have three more on order. Port Chester is hopefully getting a similar truck to them but on a Spartan cab. Bids will be opened on Thursday.
  5. As far as I know, the ladder funding has been approved and specs have been started but are not finished and has not been ordered. The only thing ordered for the ladder was the Detroit diesel.
  6. I responded with a few friends from Port Chester when we heard multiple departments toned out for an aircraft down near I-287. We were passed by a Trooper like we were not moving at all. When we arrived on the scene, it looked like a bomb had gone off. There was fire everywhere. A friend of mine saw Lt Kerr (Greenville) and he asked us if we had gear which we did and he put us to work. It was a very long ,tiring night that I will never forget.
  7. i think i heard that mt kisco was ready to get a smeal just like the one that we hope to get (port chester) and were getting two pierce pumpers.
  8. ladder 31 had the main section of the ladder replaced last year in an emergency. the money was spent but we did't want it repaired since we were in the process of researching a new ladder anyway so why waste the money .but the village wanted it repaired. basically it was a temporary fix. the truck is 25 years old and is tired. we went with a rear mount but most of us still want a tller. it's all about how much money that we thought we could get to spend on a truck since a new tiller is over $800,000.
  9. the truck is going out to bid in july. the specs will be available for review by manufactures starting next week. we would like to get a smeal and are very impressed with it. but as everyone knows, the contract will be awarded to who meets 100% of the specs and has the lowest bid. the tower ladder is our second due truck if a qualified driver and tillerman are in the firehouse. if there is only one driver ,the tower rolls first due.
  10. pcfd tl2 has a "steel your face" on it. we received written permission from the grateful dead society to put it on our rig.
  11. port chester, mt kisco, and white plains are researching new ladders. rye will be replacing eng 192 with a seagrave. the sutphen that now is 192 will become eng193 and the 1982? hahn will be replced. also a twin to ladder 25 will be ordered and become lad 25 while the current lad 25 will become lad26 replacing the 1985/1955 spartan/maxim ladder.
  12. port chester did not attend because tower ladder 2 is out of service indeffinetly due to a problem with the bucket and they could not leave the village with out two ladders in service. they were the host company for the department.
