  5. Also, lie dectectors, operated by a tv network or by a police official aren't admissible in court.
  6. Nope. Utility-40 has been redesignated Rescue-32
  7. Thats fine with me. Then McCain will win cause she will spilt the democrat vote.
  8. Ed,., I saw Rescue 32 a couple days at their headquaters. Must be really new but it looked very similiar to Utility 40. Same body, colors, and box I believe as well.
  9. Better use of the money then what some of these Long Island FD's have been accused of using it for. Like those viking castles they call fire houses.
  10. I can tell you this, I have requested WCPD aviation to Putnam County for a lost, injured hiker, so they are able to go out og Westchester County.

  15. Too excited to sleep. Seeing Shilelagh Law tomorrow in Manhattan.
  16. Oh shiz. Kenny! Congrats man and good luck.
  17. Hey any chance we can get some more experienced dispatchers up here at Putnam. We stole one. How about a dispatcher rotation list, or shared dispatcher program. Oh and congrats to the new hires. Probably get better training there anyway.
  18. Haha. That was just so funny! I just started laughing so hard. When I get to work I'll give you a line up for Putnam how it works. Of course by the time I am done writing it up, it will cause us to have to have to use it. I hate karma.
  19. Sta 9 use to be where I would hang out with one of my family friends Angelo when he was a chaffeur there and I lived on Odell Ave. Great place. I love Yonkers.
  20. Yea, Ed, I know, but in context of EMTbravo, it falls in to talking about fire districts.
  21. Finally! This is way past pue with the blatant and disgusting use of public monies by these fire districts throughout New York State with absolutely no real government oversight.
  22. I think I know who it was. One of my co workers just returned from the same cruise. PC415 where are you? Somebody found you in the Carribean.

  24. DaRock98: There is trianing and classes you could take if you would like to make yourself look much more appealing for hiring. But of course these maybe pretty costly. As an example, we here in Putnam are certified as APCO Telecommunicator 1 and NAED Advanced EMD. Both of these organizations, the Association of Public-Safety Commuications Officals (APCO Web Site) and the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch ( NAED Web Site ) offer many more courses including fire and police dispatch, supervisory and management, and QA/QI courses. But in my experience the number one specific requirement I have seen is experience as a volunteer firefighter or E.M.T. Again I stress many of these can be expensive unless you are already employed. Hope this helps.
  25. Well obviously I work for Putnam, but it is pretty much the same process in Westchester. If you are looking for a job dispatching for 60-Control or Westchester County Police(I believe for WCPD it is the same test), you need to take the civil service exam offered by Westchester County Department of Human Resources. Those are offered when needed to be, and then be put on a list. I am not sure whether this test is also valid for towns and villages, and the couple cities that use county exams, like Peekskill and Rye. But I do believe I saw a post up here about Town of Greenburgh PD looking for dispatchers. Of course your other avenue, if you would like, is to work at one of ambulance companies as a dispatcher. Especially with Transcare, Empress, and Westchester EMS, these three operate dispatch centers within the 911 system as Seconday PSAP's. Transcare for White Plains; Empress for Yonkers; and Westchester EMS for Somers(Where you will also get fire dispatch experience and where I started out a very long time ago). Good luck.
