  5. I had always wondered why MNRR didn't run double deckers, I had my ideas, but, now I know. Those would be pretty cool. Anyway, I hope the new rail cars come through and Governor Rell doesn't keep filibustering. Thanks LFDR1! -Joe DA BUFF
  6. God Bless Shiela Knoesel. May the Good Lord Hold You in the Palm of His Hand. And God Bless Her Family. -Joe DA BUFF
  7. I have to admit to being a former member over there and to taking part in some of the shenanigans (Oh well. As they say at 19 Truck, nobody's perfect.) But, I left that behind and I tried to make some amends. I didn't realize that things got worse in the two years since I left. Probably a good thing. I did make some friends and I did get a few nice rigs out of that board, though. C'est la vie. I'm glad that Bravo has welcomed me with open arms. -Joe DA BUFF!
  8. Pardon my skepticism and playing Devil's Advocate, but, honestly, WHO CARES? I remember that O.J. Simpson's trial ate up a lot of time of attention. But so what? Sorry. I just think the whole thing gets/got too much attention. And I concur, Joe, why couldn't Frank have gotten him with a Bazooka after he cheated with Jane?
  9. I have a question. Why do some departments in Westchester still use local designations (e.g. Mount Vernon and White Plains, and to some extent, New Rochelle)? I take it that some designations also aren't "official" in the County, like "Telesquirt" or "Patrol". Just curious about how that whole system works. Seems a little confusing. One more question- Who decides which rigs get which designation? The County Fire Commissioner? Or do Departments "bid" for numbers?
  10. Man, thems is a BIG F$&*#$*(! Tanker! By me, the vollies tend to run 3000-4000 gallon tankers. Then again, there are some hydrants in my neck of the woods. I'm sure though that if there are NO hydrants you need tens of thousands gallons of water. My only thought is, why one big tanker versus two or three 3000 gallon tankers? Could be dollars and cents. What I always wonder about is where the pump can fit on the Trailer!!! Nice one though! -Joe DA BUFF
  11. Seth- You have a great site here! I've learned a #&(@load of stuff about Westchester Firefighting, which I never knew previously. I'm glad I've also finally been able to share my photos with the site. You have to take care of yourself, so, please do! I know I speak for myself that I'd like a happy, unstressed Seth running the site (it can't be easy running the whole site and working 24? on for Hartsdale! It certainly ain't easy balancing a full academic courseload and writing a Firehouse history. That I know.) Keep Bravo!!! Your Blog entries add to the richness! And thanks for everything you do. And thanks for putting up a wacko buff (like me)'s photos! -Joe DA BUFF P.S. Two things- I'd like to visit you up in Hartsdale at some point this holiday season, if you're around. (I can't make the Bravo Holiday Party). Two-Am I really verified? B/c if not, I'll certainly ship my info to get verified. P.P.S. I also do for hire muscle-work.
  12. Question- Speaking of Rail incidents in Rockland, wasn't there also a nasty gas leak off the West Shore Line? -Joe DA BUFF
  13. God Bless Bill Odell and his family. May the Good Lord hold him in the Palm of His Hand. -Joe DA BUFF
  14. Thems is nice photos of that truck! I think I seen her before, didn't realize those were her specs! Nice one! -Joe DA BUFF
  15. Nice photos Seth! Speaking of your new Macks, you know Hardwick, MA runs a Tanker on that chassis!! If you're ever up there, stop by and say hello.
  16. Them is a nice Seagrave!!!! With the roll up compartments, are you going to be carrying a Jaws on there? I always ask. Good luck putting her in service, I hope she serves Central Engine Co. 6 for many years to come! See her at the Fire or more importantly, at the Nyack-on-Hudson Parade! And on a personal note, send my best to Ken Wanamaker. -Joe DA BUFF
  17. Congratulations Jonesey! Best of luck and God Bless on the new addition to your family!
  18. Hey All. I took the time and trouble to find 15 (more or less ) different versions of Phil Collins' Classic Hit, including two with Eric Clapton! Figured you might like seeing them. BUM BUM BUM BUM BUM BUM (Insert The Drum Crashes here) http://youtube.com/view_play_list?p=661CC1AEE50C4DE4 Enjoy! -Joe DA BUFF P.S. Any thoughts on this song are also appreciated! And I do believe I'll call it a night after this post.
  19. Hey Board. I think this was posted across the way, but, I just wanted to double check about a few things. Which White Plains Firehouse houses Squad 4 and where is it exactly (I saw the backside of it from MNRR this morning). The other is, where are all the New Rochelle Firehouses? I know Headquarters and Station 3 are, but, I'm not sure where the others are. All help is appreciated! If I get my photos, I'll send 'em to Seth for posting! -Joe DA BUFF
  20. Speaking of Westchester Collectibles, anyone notice that they are now selling DelPrado collectibles? Are they good or are they a waste of money? Thanks. -Joe DA BUFF
  21. Thanks SteveOFD! No North White Plains? Ah well. If I may be nosy, which company in OFD? I ask only because Monitor was kind enough to have after their parade some months ago (with Nyack)? Thanks. -Joe DA BUFF!
  22. Semper Fi! Do or Die! Gung-Ho! Gung-Ho! Gung-Ho! OOH-RAH! And of course, here's to my grandfather, Master Technical Sergeant Natale Memoli, served proudly at MCRD San Diego and later as a Bombardier in the Pacific until his honorable discharge in 1945.
  23. Well hello all, after about a month here, I figger now is a good time to come out and say, ALOHA! My name is Joe, I have been a Fire Buff all my life, and am working on joining the local volunteers back in Connecticut. I've been visting EMTBravo since 2005-ish, and just had my first set of photos posted! If anyone is wondering, 10-Buff-4 means this: "10" as in Department 10 on 44-Control's Band, "Buff" Because that's what I am, and "4" in honor of FDNY Rescue 4, where I have been buffing since 2002 (and am now writing the history of in honor of their 75th Anniversary). This is a great site and I'm glad to be a part of it and that my photos got posted! Like our Webmaster, I too like trains and may send some in. I actually rode the train to Florida once! I think I may get verification soon. I just want to keep feelin things out. Although, I think the Board likes me so far and I haven't stepped on any toes. Take Care and Stay Safe all, see you at the Fire! -Joe DA BUFF
  24. Well, I love the Kisco Coach Diner. But I'm sure there are other good ones. Any favorites in Rockland/Westchester? Come one, come all! -DA BUFF!
  25. Not real trouble with the site, but, the timing is off, one hour ahead, like the site didn't adjust for Daylight Savings Time. -DA BUFF
