  6. Congrats, Chris. I know you'll do a great job. Duane
  7. Seth, congratulations on the anniversary of the forums. I am proud to be a part of something so useful and thankful you asked me to be part of it. I hope I have been able to contribute something useful to some of the conversation, sometimes showing a West Coast perspective on things. Here's to many more years of EMTBravo and it's associated forums...

  13. Got this from a Unoffical Los Angeles County FD website. I thought you'd be interested. A Retired LACoFD was dying in his home from Cancer while the Station Fire bore down on his home. The strike team engine crew protecting the house helped his wife get him to the car to be evacuated. The story was on the evening news tonight. And while the news reporter states it was a County Fire crew, it was actually a crew from the San Gabriel Fire Department. It truly reflects what the Brotherhood is all about. 14. Seth, that was an assessment of the department right after the 2003 Firestorm. The team stated SDFD is 20+ stations short of what is needed. There will be major cuts in the budget for all departments in the city in 2010, and the mayor has stated that SDPD and SDFD are not exempt this time. Nothing has been announced yet, so it'll be interesting to say the least...these Arrow XTs are replacing 1990s era Saulsburys... As for the list, I'll post it later (have to look through my emails). Duane
  15. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting NBC has canceled this POS. It will run it's course of the already shot 13 episodes. All I can say is it's about time...

  17. Well said, Chris. Thank you for taking the time to compose and express what many others were thinking. Duane
  18. The death penalty isn't the end all it seems to be. With the exception of Texas (who has seemed to put in an express lane.. ) with all the appeals this POS if convicted would still have 20-25 years of life still in him. Too bad ethics would keep the person delivering the lethal injection from just giving him the paralitic and not the other meds...
  19. Gotta love those classics..the ALFs and Pirsches are great! Thanks for sharing.
  20. As fast as techology evolves, specialized teams like HazMat, Bomb Squad/EOD and others cannot keep up. Grants like this make it possible. And for those naysayers as I saw in the comments section of the news article, remember your local units are the first line of defense. Not the FBI or ATF (IF they can resolve their jurisdictional differences in time), military units or others. If an incident happens, these will be the first responders.
  21. Rest in Peace Firefighter Joyce. May God and the Brothers who passed before you welcome you into heaven with open arms. Thoughts and Prayers go out to his family, friends and the Brothers at the Yonkers Fire Department.
  22. didn't even make 10 minutes...felt like I was watching "LA Firefighters" or "Rescue 77" again...
  23. Bill, greats shots. May I suggest submitting the last photo of the pyrocumulus cloud (the ice capping of the snoke plume) to Wildland Firefighter magazine.
  24. he probably fit in with the clowns and donkeys around the fair, so no one missed him...
  25. Grumpyff-while I can't comment regarding whether you should post or not, a suggestion: check with either a local drug store or place like walmart as to whether they'll put your negatives to D. You state the photos are starting to fade, putting the negatives to CD will maintain the appropriate colors for the image...
