  1. The truck isn't finished yet, still has some work left.
  2. Channel 5 is a split Tx and Rx channel similar to a repeater but there's no repeater involved. They added channel 6 and 13 to be "monitor channels for channel 5" Almost all of the departments in Putnam have gone to VHF, UHF and Tband for firegrounds. All of the western Putnam departments have moved to UHF and Tband (due to difficulty obtaining VHF frequencies so close to the Hudson River), the east side of the county is mostly VHF. Alot of the departments that did go to high band are using district wide repeaters and in vehicle crossband repeaters so they can use their high band portables to communicate on low band and maintain interoperability. There's some talk about revamping the whole system.
  3. With all of the information on new truck orders, Is there any interest in creating a link where departments could post equipment and apparatus that they are looking to get rid of?
  4. Just wondering if there is any interest or even a possibility of adding a section to the emtbravo home page just for upcoming training events. All to often we miss out on training courses because we didn't know about them or where to look to find them. I've seen some really good courses and seminars in the upcoming future that have come by me through forwarded emails. In this section any member could post an upcoming training event complete with course descriptions, dates, locations and pre-requisites. This section could be a stand alone section similar to the incident alerts where it would always be present on the home page, making it easier to find and provide everyone with a central location to learn about various upcoming training. Just a thought.
  5. John Marcinak from Garrison was a small business owner, a family man and a member of Garrison FD who was murdered on New Years Eve, 2008, when he interrupted a Burglary at his place of business. Great Job to PCSO, all of the other assisting police agencies and the Putnam County District Attorneys Office for bringing this person to justice!! Thank you! Link to EMTBRAVO original postMy link
  6. Sorry, couldn't get link to work. Maybe someone could help me. The article is on LOHUD.com also.

  8. Greenburgh PD has had tactical police medics on its SWAT team since the 80's. Greenburgh PD and Greenburgh FD's Technical Rescue Team has had an advanced life support component since 1997.
  9. Yep, a police officer in New York State can arrest a person for a misdemeanor or a felony anywhere in the State of New York. Traffic infractions and violations are a different story.
