There was no doubt that a shameful liberal like yourself would take the opportunity to bash a great man like Reagan when all this thread was about was wishing him a Happy Birthday. Judging by your age status 18-21 you weren't even alive during the Reagan Presidency so anything you know was taught to you in whatever bastion of liberalism ( sorry i meant college) that you hide from the real world in.
You speak of Iran Contra .. first things first junior, no concrete evidence has ever been uncovered that directly linked Reagan to Iran Contra with that being said, the sale of weapons was devised to secure the safe release of 6 American Hostages that were being held in Iran. Some money was then funneled to the Anti Communist fighters but funding and arming anti communist groups is nothing new for the US.
Were the other presidents that you mentioned good presidents ? Yes they were but they weren't the leaders that Reagan was. The rest of the world respected and feared him which ultimatly kept us safe... but thats something that rose colored glasses wearing liberals like yourself know nothing about.
You have proven yourself time and time again on this site to be liberal, anti cop , anti government, and sometimes anti everything. You're obviously a young know nothing kid that thinks that your corner of the world is everything and the rest of us known nothing.
You post your stupidity on here like you know what's going on when in reality you couldn't shine the shoes of the senior men and women who are on this site.
I'm sorry about the rant guys and i know this will get pulled down real quick but you can only read this s*** from this guy so many times

The superbowl is no where near the most important event of today. This is Ronald Reagan's 100th Birthday. I wouldn't post this for any president but Reagan wasn't just any president. He was our 40th and our BEST. Reagan is regarded by both sides of the aisle as one of the best presidents of all time.
His smile, his wit, his patriotism, his conservatism and his vision for American still endure to this day. For a man with such a gentle face, he was a pillar of strength and a profile in courage.
Happy Birthday Gipper, We Miss You.

Last Night, 2/4/11 at approximatly 2300 hrs. Nassau County Police Officer Michael Califano pulled over a box truck on the LIE. As Officer Califano was sitting in his Radio Car with his overhead lights activated, the radio car was struck from behind by a car carrier type vehicle. PO Califano was transported to the Hospital where he passed away from his injuries. God Bless You my Brother, Rest In Peace. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and co-workers.

This is another example of how little respect people have for law enforcement these days. This was a father, mother and daughter that were fighting with the SRO's that were detailed to the game. Unfortunatly this is not an abnormal situation. Any cop who has some time on has a story about trying to arrest a someone and all of a sudden their family members pile out of the house or show up on the street out of nowhere and now you have a brawl on your hands.

I believe there should never be a rmp manned by 1 officer. Some will say it costs way too much to staff but I also think more officers lives would be saved if backup were sitting next to him/her. Also now with a 2 officer team, more firepower ie,AR-15,shotgun could be at an officers fingertips instead of locked up in the trunk of the vehicle. I have even heard that some departments have been discouraged from wearing outer body armor type vests because they look too menacing to the public. Personally I don't care what the public thinks too many officers are being shot and injured or killed.

We as LEO's need to remember that's it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6! I keep hearing/reading officers killed during routine traffic stops. I don't consider any traffic stop routine simply because I have no idea most of the time who is in the vehicle. This country simply needs stricter penalties for 2nd and 3rd time offenders. No more plea bargins. Cop killers face the death penalty upon being found guilty and I mean within 1 month. Allow 1 month for a SPEEDY APPEAL and that's it. We must take back control. I am not saying go out and be rogue, just don't put up with sh#t cause your worried of being sued. Last time I looked you can't get blood from a stone! I am very frustrated cause I bleed BLUE and I want to keep all of our Brothers and Sisters safe!

Thats all fine and good, but how about enforce the laws already on the books. Take the Plaxico Buress case, Mayor Bloomburg (being nice since it is EMTBravo) had he not 'personally got involved' Plaxico would have gotten a slap on the wrist like everyone else. One case where I recovered a loaded 9mm, spent more time in trial prep, than the perp got as a sentence, since he ended up taking a plea. Every moe I stop knows this. There is no respect for police officers on the street anymore. People seem to have the need to constantly watch and interject in situations where they feel we (the police) are being to heavy handed.
When I worked in Midtown Manhattan I used to carry a folding knife that I could open with a strong flick of the wrist, not for protection but to get the goddam LIBERALS away from me. More than once I had someone stopped, when he come some LIBERAL DO GOODER who felt I had stopped the wrong person. I would always be respectful and would ask" Do you know this person?" if the answer was "no", the next question was always "Do you know why I stopped this person?" If the answer was again " NO", then I would snap out the knife, and state"this is what I stopped them for.." 9 times out of 10 Liberal do gooder was running away. I would then explain to person I originally stopped that the other person had no right to hear there information (name, address, birthday, etc.) and that I only did that to get them to leave.

There is no fear or respect for law enforcement anymore. People don't fear the law or breaking it and they don't fear going to jail because the liberals ( Yes I said it - THE LIBERALS) have made going to jail like going to summer camp. Jail should be hard labor, bad food, etc... and if you don't like it - DON'T BREAK THE LAW !!!!!
Cops aren't allowed to be cops anymore and things like this are a direct result of that. We as cops know that the department and the municipality we work for will 9 times out of 10 cave in to a special interest against us so you have legions of cops that are hesitant when dealing with people... in this business hesitating gets us KILLED.
Since all this nonsense like the CPR camapign in NYC and the other spin off programs we have seen in westchester, the attitude of the people you deal with on the street has changed and they now feel empowered to treat us however they feel becuase if the stop doesn't go how they want, they will just go to IAD and get us jammed even if we didn't do anything wrong.
I'm sorry for the rambling but I am angry at all these shootings and I have a lot of anger as to how cops are restricted from doing the job the right way.
It seems like it is now open season on cops, let's all watch each others backs.

It hurts my heart to see that we have lost so many Brave Brothers and Sisters already this year. One Law Enforcement death is too many. Be vigilant my brothers and sisters. Get back to basics, it's about US first... Our safety is PARAMOUNT TO ALL ELSE. I've been on the job 12 years now and I try to look over the new guys and try to correct any tactical mistakes that they make and I urge all veteran cops to keep an eye on the new guys... the one tactical suggestion that you make to a new cop may be the one that saves his life one day.
God Bless Our Fallen Officers... You have my love, honor, admiration and respect... You are true heroes. Gone But NEVER Forgotten.

It is with regret to announce the passing of Josephine Harris. Josephine was confined to a wheel chair trapped on the upper floors of one of the Towers on 9/11. The FDNY Members of Ladder 6 were coming down the many flights of stairs when they came upon Josephine who was unable to go down those stairs. As the members of Ladder 6 approached her, she said for them to leave her, and just save themselves. Of course the members of Ladder 6 did NOT do that. Instead they all took turns carrying her down the many flights of stairs. Then with only a few more flights to go, the entire 110 Story Tower came down on them. Trapping Josephine and those Ladder 6 Members. Later they were all rescued and of course Josephine was very Thankful to those FDNY Members.
The History Channel did a story on those FDNY Members and Josephine, along with a few others that survived that day. That story is called "Countdown to Ground Zero". It is now on DVD featuring Josephines story. She was certainly a hero that day and offered herself to stay back for the safety of others.
May you Rest in Peace Josephine Harris. You were a Hero as far as I am concerned, along with those Firefighters from Ladder 6 who carried you down those many flights of stairs to safety.

I was deeply saddened to lear of this tragedy. This is NOT a partisan issue, this is a CRIMINAL issue. This motherless bastard committed a horrific crime and shot at people regardless of political affiliation, who knows if he actually wanted to kill the Representative or just wanted to make his crime a high profile one and this large gathering of innocent people was the first one he came across. No matter what his reasons were, I hope with every ounce of my being that his trial will be quick as will his being sentenced to death and then I hope his death is slow and painful. May God Bless Rep. Giffords and the others who were wounded and may those that were killed rest in eternal peace.
