  1. I'll get the information on the one i bought, what i did was buy two antennas for my base scanner which greatly increased its reception so now i'm getting city frequencies. again i'll get you the information for the ones i bought but look into getting two antennas for your scanner.
  2. If you're looking for a base scanner, I've got a couple that I'm looking to sell. One is an 18 channel and the other 16 channel, both come with an antenna and are from the '80's I believe. If you are interested in something simple that has basic features and nothing really hi-tech you can either pm me on Bravo or email me at italianff@hotmail.com
  3. Congratulations to the Arena family. I do not know of a more deserving family for something like this. I hope they get what they want and that ABC does a good job on fixing up the home of a family who has been through so much.
  4. could it be where your scanner is placed, because i've had days where depending where my antenna is placed since its attatched i will get bad reception no matter what the weather. i am getting perfect reception on all my scanners, so other then seeing what happens if you try putting your scanner someplace else, i dont know what you could do.
  5. as for my first post, i made a mistake, the newest channel i have for westchester 60-Control is 460.1125, which for me i get jus about everything, dispatch, trucks/units to 60 vice versa 60 to trucks/units
  6. I have the primary 60-Control channels, including the newest one i found, which is 460.1625 I think. I have Westchester County EMS frequencies, STAT flight dispatch, FDNY all main frequencies, just about every Westchester County frequency listed that I've found, including fireground. Also, one of my channels thats programmed in which is also set as my primary is Elsmford FD as I'm a jr with them.
  7. the paramedics nd docs probably said "balls" when he came in, and the cops said nope, he cut his off. u know that guy is gonna need sum serious pain killers after that one.
  8. Thats a nice rig. but why not just make one big rig, why get a tiller although it seems pretty kewl.
  9. I was just wondering if Ardsley has a new frequency from 46.52. I have it programmed in a scanner that gets FDNY-SI, but it doesn't get Ardsley. Do they have a new frequency or is it digital? Anyone with any information please post it. Thanks.
  10. I didn't know Billy that well. I've talked to him a few times and know that not only is he a great guy as a firefighter, but as a friend, parent, and brother. He will be missed by many, and my thoughts and prayers go out to the ENTIRE Malone family. May He Rest In Peace.
  11. All of the trucks and stations are pretty cool looking. there is a lot of detail put into a lot of em, i just wonder how long it took to make em. when i used to use legos, it would take me a half hr to make a simple chiefs car decidin do i wanna use this color or that. but i do send my compliments to the creators on their patience nd skill.
  12. With the frequencies, like CAM502 posted, 46.42, 46.14, 46.06, 33.96, but there are also towns, villages, etc. that have their own frequencies and don't use 60-Control.
  13. Does anyone know of any fire departments in westchester around the white plains area that are selling christmas trees this year? I know No. Castle fire dept. was selling them last year, haven't seen anything really this year. Let me know, thanks
  14. Fairview is also dispatched on 33.96, and their districtwide frequency is 153.890. I assume they use the 60-Control fireground channels.
  15. i'm looking for scanner frequencies for departments in lower westchester and some surrounding areas. i have 60-control, and a bunch others as well as the city, i'm looking to fill the 200 channel scanner i have so its making a lot more noise. either pm me or just post them so others can also get them. thanks.
  16. i'm assuming that the i/c told them to do that, and i'm sure it wont be a problem if the person was parked in the fire lane nd blockin the area they required access to.
  17. In the Elmsford Fire Dept, I won't swear to this but I believe you require: 5 yrs in the dept. minimal amount of hours, not sure how many valid and current drivers license pump operation training for engines to drive engine certain amount of time driving unit again, not totally sure on all requirements, these are just the oens i know off the top of my head.
  18. Saw it the day it came out. By far one of the best war movies ever. Not because it was a shoot-em-up movie, but because it shows what it takes to be a Marine in the US Marines. It shows the psychological aspects of it, not how many rounds you can shoot off in an hour or how many heads you can blow off or blow up. Definately a movie worth seeing.
  19. Date:11/18/05 Time:2046 Location:I87 eastbound Frequency: 156.225 Units Operating:Tarrytown E-77, E-78, Utility 8?, Tarrytown VAC Description Of Incident:MVA with multiple injuries and extrication Writer:efdny2003 2046, Tarrytown FD E-77, E-78, Utility 8? dispatched on special assignment to MVA w/injuries requiring extrication. anyone with further information, my scanner died after the initial Tarrytown FD tone-out, please post.
  20. That is a very touching and moving poem. And I hope that those who aren't of the emergency profession that have read this poem follow what it says at the end, to pull over for emergency vehicles, and then pray for them. I hope that those who are thinking of joining the Emergency Services pay attention to what could happen, having to hold back tears, or work on friends who are hurt, but take this, think of what you would be doing. You could be saving a life, or someones house, and its all worth it at the end of the day.
  21. Ladder 49 all the way. it actually shows more of the brotherhood formed in the fd. it also shows the various parts of firefighting, both being on a nozel, to being search and rescue. backdraft while it was a good movie, was to hollywooded, and to much like jerry springer with the brothers fighting, and with them coming to agreements five minutes before the older one dies.
  22. the best place i would go for something like that is radio shack. i recently bought a 200 channel fully programable handheld there, and it had a lot of things already in it, i.e. pre-set fire/police scan, as well as ham, weather, air, and marine, the big bonus i only paid $120 with the yr insurance policy. so one of the places you should check is radio shack, and in fact i know they have both rural, and metro scanners, meaning the reception is stronger.
  23. To the Arena family, I am sorry for your loss. Jimmy Boy was an inspiration to many. He will forever be in our hearts, and may God watch after him, and may God watch over you and your family in this difficult time. God Bless.
  24. I was sitting in the gym at school, i was in the 7th grade, and remember my principal coming over the pa system, with one of those voices where you know something happened, and he said, there has just been a terrorist attack on the US, and the world trade center had been hit, along with the pentagon. i remember going through the day hearing masses of sirens has fire depts. and ems services made there way for the city, and military planes flying by, not aware that air traffic had been halted yet, thinking oh God, here they come for another attack. while i didnt watch the twin towers collapse, since i was in class, i did make it home and watch from 3:00 on, and watch 7 world trade center collapse and think to myself, why would someone want to do this to us. 25. For a personal vehicle you could probably go to the places that were mentioned, I'm sure they would do it. You could also just try any regular car detailing place, I'm sure they can take ur designs and turn them into car decals/stickers.
