  2. YIKES - take it easy there guy. I thought it was obvious from the post that I was not sure. That's why I asked. I was confused and unsure so I asked. Next time I'll come visit. Thank you for the invitation.
  3. Just to satisfy myself, County picks off the one master list. Then the Ts & Vs make their own list based on residency, correct? Then after they get through that list, they pick off the master?

  5. Wasn't Empire in danger of folding a few years ago or something like that?
  6. ...mabye that's the problem with the way the chiefs are selected????
  7. The Town of Brookhaven would have to figure out fire protection for Gordon Heights. That would probably contracting with another company in Yaphank, for example. Not sure on that, however.
  8. That makes sense...some PD/FD units may be hesitant to attempt to gain acesss to stuck occupied elevators, perferring to leave it to elevator mechanics. Back in good times, NYC Housing Police Emergency Rescue did the stuck occupied elevators...
  9. there is no such thing as NYC Housing Authority PD anymore. Merged w/ NYPD (Along with NYC Transit PD) back in April of 1995. It was probably from NYCHA emergency maintenance.

  15. The flip side... Greenburgh Town Court is no doubt busier then Deerpark.Everybody will decide to plead not guilty and take their chances at trial. Wait until the Court calender clogs up and the judges begin to look to dismiss the ticket.
  16. Disclaimer: before anyone has a fit, the term professional is their word, not mine.
  17. I know some career/combo FDs up here have "floaters", i.e. guys who cover or just ride extra. Does FDNY have guys who float house to house or does Communications just dispatch a 10-14?
  18. For a car fire in one of the TBTA tunnels, I'm assuming FDNY responds. But for a car fire in the Holland or Lincoln, who puts it out? PAPD? What about the SI Bridges and the GWB? I saw pictures on fdnytrucks.com of PAPD wrecker equipment that seemed to have some purple k capability. thank you
  19. so I have waited until the last minute, and it is sold out. Does anyone know if Westchester Collectibles has any?
  20. wow. that is amazing.

  22. Glad the info helped you out. Good luck on the exam.
  23. They cover the Hudson Valley Veterans Affairs-FDR Campus located in Montrose. It is a career Federal dept. One Engine, HazMat, Ambulance, and Mini-attack. I'm sure others will fill in the rest.
  24. I do not believe that they have police power in NYS. NYSP cover the NY section of the PIP and I believe NYS Park Police cover the parks that the PIPC operates for NYS OPRHP.
  25. There is no such thing as a paid driver. These are full time, career FF positions.
