Great Presentation. Very well done, great speaker. I'm sure everyone came away learning something new, refreshing / reinforcing what was already known. It was interesting to see how many topics discussed on the board were covered:

  • Wear your gear all the time - Chiefs set the tone and should wear their gear
  • Block traffic - stay out of traffic when working on the road
  • Respond with caution (All the time) - get there alive, don't become part of the problem
  • Wear seatbelts
  • Use SCBA - don't try to be a hero in smoke
  • Be safe, if not for you, for others you love and would be impacted by you being killed, maimed, incarcerated etc.

Chief Goldfeder is going to be in Putnam in May 2007, I'm sure it will be another great session. He also mentioned Gordon Graham being a great presenter who is going to do a session in Rockland.

Probably doesn't need to be stated here, but FireFighterCloseCalls.com well worth a visit.

I'm really upset and dissapointed. I missed it this morning. I wasn't feeling well at all this morning, and with a busy couple of weeks ahead, I decided to take today to rest. Sounds like it was a great time.

I hope to be able to see Chief Goldfeder in person soon.

Thanks Monty for the synopsis.

USE YOUR HEAD FOR SOMETHING BESIDES STICKING A HELMET ON IT

AND MAYBE JUST MAYBE YOU WILL BE HEALTHY ENOUGH TO TELL YOUR GRANDCHILDREN ABOUT HOW BEING A FIREFIGHTER WAS THE GREATEST TIME OF YOUR LIFE

On behalf of the Officers and Members of the Elmsford Fire Department, I would like to thank all, who attended today's Seminar, making it another successful day, with over 400 firefighters in attendance.

Chief Goldfeder did a terrific job of reminding us on how to better protect ourselves.

We apologize for the certificate printing malfunction.

Certificates will be printed and mailed to all departments.

Thanks again and as Chief Goldfeder said numerous times today:

STAY SAFE!!!

Syd Henry

Assistant Chief

Elmsford Fire Dept.

Absoult great seminar!!! All the firefighters there should have taken home the messages and there were a lot of them sprinkled in amoungst his stories.

1- Be safe- you have been issued gear use it--chiefs included

2- Driving apparatus/ or pov dive responsibley--cause guess what you are.

3-A healthy firefighter is a safer firefighter-live long enough to be told your too old to go to fires.

4-Chiefs You are the ones that must above all get the message out.

5-Traing is important--ohh one more time TRAINING IS IMPORTANT

6-This is the best dam job in the world.

I wonder one thing and I will ask Chief Goldfeder when I see him Would he have left the wedding if the pager went off for a working fire???

BurnCare wishes to Thanks the Elsmford Fire Department for their support over the years. Your donation to BurnCare goes a long way in helping burn susvivors and their families
