26 posts in this topic

The first Pierce Velocity to be delivered in Orange County (and the lower Hudson Valley area in general, for that matter) arrived at Goshen Station 3 - Dikeman Engine & Hose - tonight. The new Engine 932 will replace the existing 1989 Pierce Arrow engine.

It's being sold. Legal notice in the paper yesterday announcing that they're now accepting sealed bids for it. Minimum bid, $40,000.

Spoke with three Chester members last night who confirmed that 920 has not been delivered yet.

Good luck to Goshen with the new engine.

Quite frankly, I have no idea why they replaced the old one though.

Goshen? Several of my relatives were the first Chief's of Minisink H&L in Goshen...

Anyway, beautiful rig.

New Fairfield, CT Company "A" should be getting a new Pierce Velocity within a year.

Nice looking rig, good luck with it. Just wondering about the mirrors and how the drivers like those style of being out front like that. I know that we had a similar set up on our Truck and ended up switching them to the standard side mount mirrors due to complaints of the drivers including myself about the visability. Just wondering if any other drivers had thoughts or opinions on this. I know personaly that it was very difficult for me to adjust to this type of configuration.

Also is this a something that we are going to see on new rigs that are coming out?

How long and high is the rig?

I like the scotch-tape chevrons on the back.
