I suggest everyone attending should hitch a ride on their Dept. apparatus or other Dept. vehicle(s) that'll be in the Parade, so they don't have to pay out of pocket expenses for gas, for using their personal vehicles as transportation. Just a thought.

It was a great parade, a great night for it, and a great time overall... the trophies were a little messed up, because as previously stated, Lake Carmel got best rescue, and they didn't even bring one, and Montrose got 2nd best 21-40 with 45 people in line! weird... anyway, I took a ton of pictures, and as soon as I get them up on photobucket, i'll put them in a slideshow and post them

That is something I could never comprehend, if you take best overall that should be your ONLY trophy. Not 6 other "Best" category trophies.........but who knows if you're tight with the judges anything can happen

I cannot remember many of the trophy winners . I do recall Mahopac Falls taking a ladies aux trophy, and a Marine corp winning Non Firematic color guard I believe, Patterson took a marching trophy for under 20. Putnam Valley VAC took Best Ambulance. As for the categories--They were not broken down by uniform class. Usually not in Mahopac. It was 1st and second best by number in line--under 20, 21-40 and 40 plus I believe. It was an awesome evening for a parade. Although we took home nothing, we felt good, looked good and had a great time. Maybe next year?!?

I am trying to get the official results and should post the list by Sunday. We thank everyone for coming. Mahopac does not "move" trophies. A lot of people do not agree but if you win it, you get it. It was a fantastic night. We had a crowd we haven't seen in years. The weather was excellent. The turnout was supurb. Thank you everyone for attending. The fair continues Saturday and next Thursday - Saturday. We will award the 2008 "Bullitt" Mustang next Saturday night at the end of the fair.
