Structure Fire - City of Poughkeepsie - 10 Harrison Street 8/19/09

17 posts in this topic

The City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department and the Fairview Fire Departments FAST team operated at a structure fire in a vacant residence at #10 Harrison Street this morning. Firefighters arrived shortly before 3:00am to find heavy fire from the rear of the structure. Two lines were placed into operation and the bulk of the fire was quickly knocked down..... The buildings balloon construction proved problematic as firefighters pulled walls and ceilings to get at the last remaining pockets of fire.... The roof took off briefly but these flames too were quickly knocked down by interior crews....... The cause of the fire is being investigated by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department......... I'll post more photo's later but for now I need to recharge my batteries.....

These are great shots, and I hope you don't think this comment churlish, but... could ya lose the watermark? It's *very* intrusive and really distracts from my appreciation of the shots, I find. Isn't possibly to digitally, invisibly, watermark the files in EXIF data these days?

I don't know if its possible or not. however I do not find it a problem and in today's computer age its to easy to steal photos. He puts allot of time, energy and even more expence into his photography and I think its good that he puts his copyright on it since it is some of the best fire photos I have seen.

Keep up the great work Bill and when are you going to give photo classes  I can't use the wife's digital rebel for crap
