Just prior to the above picture, members were ordered off the 3rd floor. A 2.5 gal PW extingusher was left behind. It BLEVED and here is the result:

We are still looking for the handle, hose and sling.

Did the 3 gal knock down any fire when it bleved ???? That would have made for an interesting set of pics.

I wonder if the sudden release of 557.5 cubic feet of steam made any favorable impact on extinguishing the inferno?

Not so you would have noticed. Ladder pipe on L-12 did a much better job at knocking it down.

A lot less than that, they had already used at least 1/2 the water in the can.
