4 Chicago FF's Trapped In Collapsed Fire Structure

The Chicago Fire Department is currently working a 3-11 Alarm Fire and EMS Plan 2 at 1744 E. 75th St (cross street is Cornell).

They have removed 2 firefighters and have 2 firefighters still trapped in the collapse of a one story brick commercial building. Also the Collapse Rescue Team has been ordered to report to the rear of the structure.

Sounds like all 4 are out at this time. Incredible that it happened in the 100th anniversary of the Union Stockyards fire. I'm wishing the 4 a full recovery.

Chicago FD confirming 2 firefighters dead. One died upon arrival at Christ Medical Center, the other Firefighter died upon arrival at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. 1 firefighter critically injured, and one firefighter condition not being released at this time.

They were among the 16 firefighters injured at the scene. 6 of those firefighters injured in serious to critical condition.

Its now being reported that 2 of the 4 Firefighters have passed away. RIP brothers

Prayers to the families and for quick recoveries to those injured.never a good time for this, but I think being close to the holidays make it worse

My thoughts and prayers to the families, around the hollidays just makes it worse.

To the injured brothers may you recover and return to the station to honor the fallen.
