Whoa... that thing looks like a beast! Is it just me, or are the front wheels disproportionately larger than the rear ones?

It's the angle Nate, they are the same size, I will post a few shots of the wheels. the rear wheels are in the wheel wheel some so it gives the appearance of being smaller

Oh, ok, thanks Mark.

**Correction** I saw from one of your pics that it is not a rear dual tire setup, probably explaining my perception.

Very unique! I love that pump panel. I also love the way the truck looks!

Is this going to be a first due engine for them?

Thanks for sharing the pics, Mark! I especially appreciate the detail shots!

Very nice pics! I like the rear compartment set up...its a good alternative to putting a built in generator on the apparatus. You have the cord reel for rapid use, and if the need arises to have power farther from the apparatus that the cord reel allows, you can just take the generator with you.

Is that a preconnected line on the officers side of the bumper? It looks like it would be hard to deploy.

Thanks Seth, the unit will be first due only to the harder to reach areas of their district, primary roll will be the water source pumper as it carries 2500' of 5" hose. When we were there they were measuring the one empty compartment for a hose reel to be used as a dead reel for forestry hose, it will be mounted on the slide out tray.

It is more of a trash line, not sure if they will preconnect it, they are awaiting the reducer adapter and caps for all three front 2 1/2" so they can be used as 1 1/2" as well, here is a better picture of the line.

One of the really nice features was the pump being heated, we actually put our hands on it yesterday to warm them up as it was freakin cold up there yesterday. The tank to pump and tank fill lines were also heated

This appears to be an excellent, well thought out and designed rig, I especially like the front mounted pump. It is so easy to use. And, the layout for equipment appears to take advantage of every inch of space. Well done to the truck committee.

We have had a similar unit in operation for quite a few years. However ours acts strictly as a water main and does not carry any equipment or tools. It's sole purpose is to get as close to the scene a possible, drop the 5" and run to the bay to draft.

Great looking truck!! I haven't ever seen a brand new front mount engine, a few FD's around here have some older (70's) trucks that are front mount though.

This is Firematic's third front mounted unit they have built in the last few years.

We are currently in the process of building a new front mount CAFS pumper, here is a drawing of what we hope to take delivery of.

* when the file loads, go to the top, click on View, then to Rotate View, scroll down to and click on counter clockwise to see drawing correctly

The rear wheel well looks like it was set of for two tires but one massive tire is more then enough for weight distribution. Imagine two of those things back there?! Would not even fit without some kind of wheel well flare, but i would be more impressed if they did  .

It has a 102" wide body instead of the usually standard 96" to get deeper compartments, thus the reason for the rear wheel being inside the wheel well alittle further. It had the super single rear wheels from the beginning of the process.
