Structure Fire - Staatsburg Fire District - Anderson School for Autism - 2/15/11

The Staatsburg, Hillside,Hyde Park,and Roosevelt Fire Departments responded on the evening of February 15, 2011 for a reported structure fire at the Anderson School for Autism.....

Firefighters arrived to find fire from the roof of an ~50 x 80 wood frame w/truss construction. The building when completed, was going to be their recreation pavilion.....

Due to the truss hazard, firefighters fought the fire from the exterior perimeter of the building and were able to make a good stop by hitting the fire from below....

Firefighters were able to get at the fire due mostly to the open truss construction.....

The large propane tanks were one of many hazards faced by firefighters......

Dutchess County Department Of Emergency Response Fire Investigation Team Members look for clues......

There is enough SALT in the bucket of that Tower to de-ice all of the roads in Dutchess County.
