Nice pictures Chief, thanks for sharing.

I was actually on the river this morning for boat qualification and we could see the column of smoke and knew it had to be a structure. The smoke was carrying accross the river pretty good. We could actually see the smoke from parts of New Windsor as we made our way down to Cornwall Landing. Was nice to see the smoke change color and disipate as we were out there lol.

Can someone familiar with these type of buildings or that was on scene give a quick rundown on the construction? Appears standard stick build with knee wall/voids on the second floor loft and perhaps on the ground floor?

With the shingles/roof running to the ground, I would imagine these types of houses really hold the heat and smoke until the front or rear windows fail, making ventilation that more urgent?

Is this a summer "cottage" or a year round residence?

What was the layout as far as the interioir stairs?

VERY interesting building, I like fires like this...thanks.
