A veteran NYPD detective who helped rescue two women from the East River after last week’s helicopter crash was a hero once again yesterday after he helped resuscitate an elderly man who was in cardiac arrest at the Columbus Day Parade.

What about the beat cop, that actually saved the day?? Early CPR saves lives. Defibrillator is important, but useless without early CPR.
