New vehicle affects future of Air Force firefighting

TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. (AFNS) -- Soon Air Force firefighters will have a new weapon in their arsenal. The P-34 Rapid Intervention Vehicle will be in production by late September 2011. The Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency here has been the driving force behind this initiative.

these look to be a little top heavy. Other than that a pretty cool concept and its nice to see that the air force has done their research and looked into building the best truck for the job.

Seems to me that most standard CFR/ARFF trucks are top-heavy.

shouldn't be any more top heavy than a typical light rescue-utility vehicle, only time will tell if the USAF got this one right, but hey, whatever you can do to cut more people---
